I recently had the heart wrenching experience of finding someone to clean my cat’s skeleton after I unexpectedly had to put him down. I had been to the golden curiosity shop a handful of times prior, and knew it was an amazing place, but didn’t know if they worked on pets or took commissions.

When I went in the next morning to ask about a commission, the owner Luke was so kind and compassionate, he told me they did do commissions, and that it would only take between 2-3 months to clean my cats skeleton. He was extremely transparent about pricing and the services he could and couldn’t offer. I ended up getting my cat’s entire skeleton cleaned along with a soft mount of his tail.

From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of extraordinary, when I received my cat’s skeleton, it was meticulously cleaned and bagged and clearly evident how much care, love, passion, and dedication went into preserving his skeleton for me, and I will cherish it for the rest of my life.

Not only was the quality of my commission exceptional, but the Golden Curiosity Shop is a delightful and captivating place to visit. The axolotls, Watson and Crick; the vast number of ethically sourced animals; the pieces of memorabilia; and the fun science/math contraptions (you have to see the pool ball wave generator over the counter). Its half museum, half shop, and 100% awesome.

Luke, the owner/manager of this shop is incredibly kind and helpful. I lost my soul cat very quickly to lymphoma, and Luke helped me facilitate the preservation of his skull through a farm he works closely with. He was gentle and kind throughout the entire process in the worst moments of my life. I just got my kitty buddy’s skull back and it is perfect, it came out beautifully and I am so grateful that I can keep this part of him with me now. The shop itself is also a science nerd’s dream! They have such a cool collection of animal preserves, and all kinds of really neat science based toys and books and jewelry and collectibles. It’s definitely worth checking out! They even have two live axolotls that have a very very cool back story! My boyfriend took me here as a unique date idea and I’m forever grateful...

Let me start this off by saying I have been to Almost ALL the oddity shops in Colorado and I have never been more impressed then this one ! My kids loved it , I loved it , they had the biggest VARIETY of bones I’ve ever seen ! The prices were reasonable and they had so much ! The owner was super cool and friendly and the shop itself had so many things to do and look at and my kids had so much fun just being there ! I bought a mountain lion skull and a beautiful butterfly and a few other things and I was so happy with my purchase and I wish I had gotten more ! We spent over 45 min to an hour in this shop and I am just BLOWN AWAY. We will be returning soon for a monkey skull and fingers crossed a giraffe if we’re lucky
