I'm so sad to write this review. I was excited to utilize a locally owned company. We found some appliances & provided our salesperson with the blueprints of our kitchen area(s) & he worked with our cabinet people (Cabinet Headquarters, btw, awesome to work with) to get specs etc so installation of the appliances and cabinetry would go smoothly. We built during "the plague" so things took WAYYYYYY longer than anticipated, but that gave Bekins PLENTY of time to look at blueprints & determine that the 2 Beko freezers they sold us would not actually work in the space where they were meant to go. Bekins claims that they did not know this, however, I find it extremely difficult to believe as any installer ever of Beko products (that I've spoken with) says it's a known problem. Beko freezers cannot be plugged into a GFCI outlet nor can they be plugged into a circuit with another appliance on it. Despite this, the installers proceeded to have us drill a hole in the side of 1 of our cabinets so we could plug 1 freezer into a GFCI on a separate circuit because at install, the GFCI kept tripping. We received C of O a week or 2 later & although I was annoyed with the hole in the cabinet, the freezers seemed to be working, so I began utilizing them. Within a week, I had filled the freezer on the left with $3k worth of meat while the freezer on the right was filled with fruits, veggies, etc. We left on vacation that following week & came home to blood everywhere & a smell that would gag a maggot. The brand new meat freezer tripped the GFCI causing us to lose not only $3k in meat, but also, we had to pay for a full biohazard clean-up (Complete Restoration, also phenomenal to work with), new flooring, trim, drywall, paint, all before our home was even switched from a construction loan to a mortgage! Come to find out, Beko freezers are not to be plugged into GFCIs & they're NOT supposed to be on the same circuit, so after Bekins sent a tech out who confirmed this information, we had an electrician come out to switch the plugs. Now after we paid for all of this, Bekins says the freezer is now "functional" so there's nothing they can do lol! It's "functional" because we paid a professional to put in a plug that is not up to code. The freezer smells to high heaven because once plastic absorbs the smell, it doesn't go away. Bekins required me to keep this nasty freezer inside my house while they "looked into" the issue...for over 3 MONTHS! I'm frustrated. I'm sad that a family owned business would treat customers this way & try to "pass the buck" while pretending to care. Meanwhile, we're out the money we paid for the freezer we can't utilize where or how we wanted, the money for all of that food (which would have lasted us to at least fall), the money for the clean-up, fixing, etc. We're over $6k deep in this mess & have lived with this disgusting smell in our garage since 3/10/24. I can not, in good conscience, recommend Bekins & I really REALLY wanted to. I really wanted this to be a pleasant experience for all of us involved. Instead I'm sad & feel extremely taken advantage of.
Update: I have happily taken my business elsewhere for the rest of my appliances & have received fantastic customer service from Best Buy on Harvey & The Home Depot. Thank you. I do find these claims extremely interesting because at no point did your installers state any of these things to me. I do recall them chatting with my builder, however, I was not privy to the conversation. That said, we did double check with the electrician who stated that the GFCIs are required in MI where there is moisture. The location of the freezers is extremely relevant because of the requirements these particular appliances that I, the consumer, was never made aware of prior to purchasing. The location of these freezers was clearly on 1 circuit in a kitchen near water requiring a GFCI. Google won't allow me to reply, but I'll discuss further with...
Read moreLet me begin with the store front. Inviting, well maintained and clean displays that were social distancing. Seriously though, the folks there are friendly and informed well on their products. All of our questions were answered to our satisfaction. The show room which is bi-level, is well signed with detailed information of the products. Erin Hulbert introduced herself to us, she knew all about warranties, service, installs, and delivery options. We ended up purchasing a LG fridge, gas stove, and microwave. When our appliances arrived at the house we were greeted by Miles and Mike. Both these guys were friendly and professional. They worked well together, communicating and planning how to execute the various hurdles they may encounter for the install of our products. The guys laid down floor protectors and a board to slide the appliances on. The install was done on all three appliances in under three hours. They cleaned up, explained how new appliances worked. We were pleased to hear that they don't contract any service out of their products like the big box stores do ( The Home Depot) which my wife and I were very pleased to hear. Will most exclusively recommend Bekins to everyone I know looking to purchase and install new appliances. Everything went very smooth, start to finish and I just don't give that statement up. Extremely happy with Bekins in Grand Haven! The red rose for my wife was the finishing touch to a...
Read moreThis is my 2nd Bekins purchase in 4 months. The first was a BEKO freezer. LOVED the model. The sales staff was helpful in ordering even in the midst of COVID shortages. We did not have installation because all we needed was to plug it in.
Our 2nd purchase was an LG refrigerator. Again the sale staff was remarkable and again ordered one for us because it wasn't in stock. With both purchases Bekins give about an hour window for delivery as opposed to a half-day window that competitors give. Also Bekins staff does the delivery and they were AMAZING!!!
Rob & Charlie arrived at the exact time we were promised. They were extremely careful bringing the appliance and very courteous. When they moved the old appliance they vacuumed and washed the floor in preparation for the new one. New waterlines were also installed and they made sure I was comfortable with all of the features. Then they moved the old appliance to the garage and we so far as to vacuum all the dust bunnies from under the old freezer!
I purchase Bekins service plan for both appliances. With the sales and delivery service we have received I am confident that any repair service that may be needed will be Bekins quality service!!!
I HIGHLY...
