One of the best theaters in town, Rivertown is my go-to location. Celebration staff is top-notch always. The concession line is always huge but they move quicker than you expect. My main complaints about the Rivertown location have to be with some of the resources that they don't take advantage of and some of the arrangement of things. You get your drink and lid and straw, but good luck getting to a trash can afterward. They keep the drink counter clean, but built-in trash near the straw dispenser would go a long way. There are soda fountains near the theaters, but also un-utilized concession spaces. I would love to be able to refill my pop and popcorn without exiting back in to the lobby and having to stand in line, but even though it seems like an easy decision to have a staff member or two at a concession stand inside solely for popcorn refills, I've never seen it done. The refill experience needs work. Auditoriums are great - you'll be hard pressed to find a bad seat in a single auditorium. Sound and picture quality have been fantastic overall, and the one or two bad experiences I've had here have been with other customers who don't know how to behave in a movie theater or how to be considerate of other people and have nothing to do with the staff of Celebration Cinema. There's a few times the Dbox seat attraction has been busted which is unfortunate since it's a great thing to have. The best thing about Celebration Rivertown is the 'secret' back exits that empty directly into the covered parking lot. Once you learn the trick, you have the best out after your movie. I really want to know what's on the upper levels and why they appear to have been designed as a customer-facing area but aren't accessible...
Read moreI visited this theater yesterday. My daughter takes her Dad and I to the movies every Tuesday there’s a good movie we want to see! Pretty amazing how she looks out for us as we’re getting older. We hadn’t been to this theater in years. The distance was the first obstacle and the ticket taker was not at his station. We could see him with a group of other employees in a huddle so we called to ask which direction theater six was in since there wasn’t an initial sign. We told him we had the tickets and to watch for my husband coming from seasoning his popcorn. The walk to get to theater 6 was a bit much if you’re older and have health issues. This theater hasn’t updated to the recliner seat model. I also had to go to restroom during the movie. I came out and looked for signs directing me. I saw the sign saying men and women. I turned as the sign directed. I saw the Men restroom and kept walking, finally I saw people up ahead and asked if the woman’s restroom was up ahead further and they said no. I had to go back from where I came which was a great distance. Then it was still a great distance to get to the restroom. First it wasn’t clean, second there was an employee in there and said hello to her and she looked at me with a blank stare and said nothing. I asked if she was okay giving her the benefit of the doubt and she nodded still saying nothing. I was happy to leave and it was quite a trek. I had the distance from theatre 6 to the exit of the theater and now through the food court to the escalator and through the mall to the door. If you have difficulty walking this is not the...
Read moreThe Grandville celebration cinema does a lot of things well. Every time we go there is plenty of staff to get your tickets at multiple registers and while there is one line for snacks, it moves fast with lots of people willing to take your money for the overpriced popcorn, candy, soda and nuts. We enjoy how you can add your own amounts of butter and flavoring to your own popcorn. We like how the lid for the big popcorn doubles as a bowl. The person checking your tickets is always friendly and can even scan tickets purchased online through their tablet. --A very handy thing for getting good seats for the hot new release films. We like the assigned seating and how the armrests swivel up so you can snuggle with your beloved. Sound and picture is always excellent and staff always thank you for coming afterwards. There can be a line for the bathrooms after a long film, but it is usually only a must stop for those who bought large sodas. The bathrooms are always clean and well stocked. And the big upcoming movie displays offer great opportunities for staging photos with your family and friends to post on social media. Choose a matinee for a bit of a price break, but overall Celebration Cinema provides a great movie goer experience for...
