Oh my what a fascinating place! I arrived about a half an hour before it was closing time on a Sunday; I'm definitely going back to explore again. The Museum is only open on Sundays at this time; It is completely run by volunteers. The volunteers who were there were very friendly and knowledgeable about the artifacts displayed. I found out many things I didn't know about and loved getting a tour filled with interesting information about Granite Falls history. This Museum is worth a visit. Read moreIf you are worried about this being a dinky museum with sparse collections like some other small-town, museums don't be! For an all-volunteer museum it is a treasure. There are some larger objects as well as small covering topics like logging, mining, early 1900s fashion, and the like. It is small but it is well organized and the space is well utilized. Also there is a second floor and second building showing a more domestic set-up.
