Lived in granite for ten years Iv watched the spar tree change owners a few times like four and I always give it a chance once a new one comes along! But every time seems like the same old thing rude and if you don’t go in their every day you will have to wait for service even when you are standing in the order line witch is you standing Their with no one in front of you and watch people get served out of turn I understand when their is one bar tender no big deal but tonight when the staff member that is that was watching the door is helping be hind the counter and I was standing in line and she is waiting for a customer to sign the ticket stub witch she should have just went back work and let him sign it not waited for it so I popped off and said being the smart ass I am just add the tip and sign it and I laughed and this was my second drink mind you the security gard that was behind the counter and serving alcohol I’m sure he don’t have a license anyways at this point said to me mind your own business so I said mind yours and I was just joking around! Then he said something to the bar tender witch is fine I knew it was about me then I stood Their for a few minutes as she walked buy me several times more then five and then finally she told me I can only serve you And your friend water I said ok thanks and walked back to my table and started telling the group that I was with about what just happened and about half way though the explanation the security gard came up to the table and was hustling me and the group None of us were asked to leave but we all ended up leaving away ways for how rude things were tonight was the worst experience in the bar out of the ten years Iv lived in town I know it was just a chip his shoulder but seems like every time I give it a chance this is how it goes and not a good way to run a business i know you can’t watch every employee but how is it that every time even with a new owner is it the same thing maybe their should be some guide lines or something to help it out I mean that must have been why Their was not that many people in their on a Friday night rudeness don’t get you that far in a business I must say and it is a small town so it will get around and if the owner reads this sorry for the truth I know it is just one experience but not really cuz I have been in their more then once and the past have not been the best but this time was the worst so far so thing to change...
Read moreIt was one of those beautifully sunny days in Granite Falls where the sun finally punched through the mist, and the air smelled like wet cedar and second chances.
That’s when you find yourself at the Spar Tree Tavern. A place where the neon glows warmly on weathered wood, where the sound of laughter mixes with the clack of pool balls, and where the jukebox swings between old country and grunge without apology.
And there’s Tammie. All-star waitress. Bartender. The unofficial mayor of smiles. She’ll remember your name before you’ve finished your first drink, crack a joke that catches you off guard, and tell you the best places to watch the river when it floods in spring. She moves through the room like she’s known it forever, dropping one-liners and refilling your glass with a grin that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into the right place on exactly the right day.
Locals swap stories about old logging roads and weekend plans, the pool table balls coast down the table, and a dog might wander in, tail wagging, as if checking on everyone.
At the Spa Tree Tavern, you discover that time stretches in the best way, filled with stories and the comforting hum of a place that doesn’t need to impress you, because it already feels like home.
You leave lighter than you arrived, with Tammies wave at the door reminding you: sometimes, all you need is a cold drink, a laugh, and a beautifully sunny day in a small-town tavern you didn’t know you were...
Read moreDo you like hair in your food? You too?! Crazy small world. I do too. I was treated to a wonderfully delicious meal and they didn't just throw in the standard accidental portion of 1 hair, they threw in 2. Of course, 2 is pretty lucky right? Maybe I should get a lottery ticket, or maybe it wasn't luck?
I'm a very typical customer, polite, please and thank you, smile. I love bar and grills. I love their atmosphere, the beer, the food is always excellent and this place was right there, ready for 5 stars. They get 3 because of the food, they lose two because of the cook who can't manage to get half of his ponytail into his hat. I know it's tough, it really is. Just kidding, I worked for McDonalds in High School and it was really easy to get every hair into my hat. This guy seems to have issues with that. Weird. Maybe I take the simplicity of it for granted?
I also thought hair nets and gloves were standard, in fact a law these days. Maybe not. Hopefully he washes his hands. He seemed nice and all, friendly, but I question that now.
The lady behind the bar was awesome. Super nice, friendly, helpful, smiling. I like her and I mandated on my bill that she gets 100% of that tip, she deserved it, he deserved to be fired.
I doubt I'll ever return to this place. It's a shame, everything else was great. If you go, look...
