I have been to this restaurant a handful of times over past 3 years or so. So, I first experienced the place before the remodel. I have to say overall, the experience has gone from 5 stars to about 3 maybe 4. One reason for the downgrade is food quality. I would swear the fajitas and enchiladas were more tasty before the remodel. However, they are still good just not as good. The menu selection for seafood is great (really great) but I found the shrimp a tad bland. Another thing concerns the service. While the efficiency seems better than a few years ago, this can actually detract from the dining experience as one ends up feeling a little rushed as the server grabs at your plate or bill pad prematurely then withdraws as she realizes you aren't finished or ready for a takeout box. Or your credit card isn't in the bill pad yet. You end up feeling a bit "processed". On the plus side, they are very good with large groups and refilling hot water for tea and other service points like refilling chips/salsa/bean dip. Additionally, while on the subject of service, what happened to the funny guy who worked there? I do wonder if there was a change of ownership or management since the remodel. Overall, the reception thru to leaving get a less warm feeling but still ok. Even after all the critique this still gets a solid 4 stars due to overall service and food choices. Prices seem about average for metro Seattle but maybe high for this rural area. They have 2 other places so it might be...
Read moreWhen this place first opened, the service and food were both great. But its gone down hill since that time. We took our daughter here for her birthday, at her request, but it was definitely not the experience she had hoped for.
We made it abundantly clear it was her birthday, as we've seen their celebrations many times before, but not once was she acknowledged. She didn't receive the song and sombrero, nor the ice cream treat that we've seen so many others receive. Even after my husband said something, nothing was done.
Worse than that, they often bring the check while you are still eating, like only several bites in. Very distasteful! Most of the time it seems like you are troubling the wait staff if you ask for anything, even when it's something they should be doing anyways, like filling your water. We have not returned since her birthday, and likely never will. I don't know if management changed or what, but it's just not the same....
Read moreWe drove through Granite Falls and decided to eat lunch there. Reviews showed that this mexican restaurant had the best rating. More telling was that the restaurant was pretty busy considering it was off-season, and we were there after 2pm!
The service was very fast. We had chips and our drinks within minutes of being seated. The chips were warm and came with a side of salsa and a side of very tasty refried beans.
I had Enchiladas Jalisco, and my hubby had a vegetarian burrito (sorry I can't remember the name). We LOVED our meals!! Delish! My husband finished his burrito (it didn't come with any sides), but I had to take a large portion of my meal home (it was served on what looked to be a platter rather than a plate - huge portions!).
We would definitely eat...
