Buzz Inn Steakhouse — Restaurant in Granite Falls

Two stars because we have been here many times, the food is typical pub food, the servers have always been friendly and it's normally a nice atmosphere. Today we stopped in and things were going just fine until two men at the bar started arguing, cussing, yelling at each other. The older man, a regular, was clearly over served, wasted and beligerant. This was 4 pm on a Sunday. No one did anything. The older man got up and started assaulting, shoving, and hitting the younger man, reaching for his throat. No one did anything. The younger man yelled at least 4 times for the older man to stop touching him and get his hands off while he did nothing but try to deflect the older mans hands. No one did a damn thing. The drunk man lost his balance and stumbled back into our table knocking all our drink over onto us. No one did anything. The old man went back for the younger man and my uncle got up to get between them. The old man wouldn't give up, grabbed my uncle by the throat and still, NO ONE DID ANYTHING! So my boyfriend grabbed the old man and pulled him to the floor. Finally, someone decided to come over.....and kick us out? Just because someone is a regular does not mean it is ok to over serve them and allow them to assault two other people. And the guy (manager?) who finally stepped in threatened to call the cops on us. Seriously? Maybe if the servers hadn't illegally over served the older man or management had stepped in when he was assaulting and trying to fight others, we wouldn't have had to take it upon ourselves to deescalate...

We used to be big fans of the Buzz Inn but this place has gone way downhill. The last few orders we have placed they have forgotten items on our order. When you call and ask for a refund on the missing items they tell you that they cannot refund you unless you come back in. If I were to drive all the way back, why wouldn't I just ask for the items that were missing?? That is just poor business practice. If you order food to go, they charge you $1.50 PER ITEM as a to go fee. When I asked about this they said it was for the packaging. $1.50 for each to go box?? I was told this was a decision from corporate. Again, very poor business decision. In a time when people are already being squeezed for more money in every aspect of life, these are the dumb business decisions that will lose you customers. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told that there was no manager there (which they have already been cited by the Snohomish County Health District for, among many other citations for sanitation issues) Rude staff that is literally of no help. The Buzz Inn has lost us as customers, but I'm sure a "manager" will respond to this review and say the generic "we hope you will give us another chance" reply as they have done for all the countless bad reviews. Save your money, there are plenty of much better options unless a run down dirty dive bar is...

Normally this place isn't too bad food and service are at least ok. Not this time, I walked in and the hostess was taken back when I told her I was there to dine in, as if a single person cannot eat at a restaurant on their own, got seated, and waited and waited and waited and finally got to place my order, and for the first time I've ever ordered the buffalo mac&cheese it doesn't come with a side or pre dish (soup or salad). When I asked about it I was told it doesn't come with it but she would be happy to add one on for me. Now, just to make sure I wasn't crazy I checked and sure enough it shows it on the menu as well as requires a side when ordering online. On to the next issue, I asked for a fountain drink which is 3 dollars and I don't know why it's so inconsistent there but sometimes it's brought out in a glass that may as well be a pitcher and sometimes the glass is barely kids size, this was a kid size time, no big deal but if you serve someone a drink that is smaller than a can of soda you should probably check on it. I'm not sure if it's cause I was alone or what but I was only looked at if the table next to me was checked on and I said something before she could flee the area.
