I found Electech in Greenfield - about 10 minutes from my house. Via a web-chat, I then discovered they required no appointment and I could drop in at any time which I did. I drove down, handed my phone to Carlos who greeted me by name who knew who I was tthanks to the chat, where he disappeared to the workbech in back without a lot of paperwork and check-in process.
There wasn't enough time for me to miss my phone, when he came back out and handed me the repaired phone, where I noticed that the phone was working perfectly. Carlos had also installed a screen protector so I wouldn't have it happen again. For $60 less than Apple would have charged....
What a sharp contract to geek squad for a battery replacement 3 weeks ago where I had to make an appointment, deal with 3 "service" people, Fill out paperwork, and then wait an additional 30 minutes to evaluate my phone. Then I was told it would be an hour and I could pick the phone up.
Electech did the screen swap in less time than "Check-in" took at Geek Squad. A sharp contrast study in why I I'm glad Electech is right around the corner. I hope I never need them again, but if I do --- I will definitely go there.
Thanks Carlos - Totally impressed with...
Read moreGot a fixed for 200 dollars(including tips). I brought my laptop expected it would be a simple Hinge fix. Later on they said it’s because my LCD screen is broken so I have to spend money fixing it, which I agreed on. This pretty much understandable because LCD screen can be broken due to the Hinge. Overall the experience was pretty good. After a week when they contacted me and I received my laptop, I didn’t check trusting the amount of good reviews this store receives. After a week my keyboard’s dead, I couldn’t get to the location at the moment so I check it myself. Turn out the hinge isn’t fix at all, they only TAPE it together using a small tape instead, this caused the laptop to not open properly and overtime k*lled my Keyboard(I cannot fix the keyboard myself so I go to another store and they said this), I fixed the hinge myself watching tutorial from Youtube. After another week, the screen also felt off because they didn’t put it back up together properly. I think overall this store is great with good price and I might be unlucky one on the train. Still, this experience deserved a 1...
Read moreI dropped my phone off to be repaired and was told it would take about an hour. An hour later I returned and was told they damaged the power button and asked if I still wanted the screen replaced. I said I did so she said it would take her 5 to 10 minutes. An hour later she said the new screen was defective and she ordered another one to be overnight delivered and asked if I wanted the cracked screen put back on. I said yes then, after some time, she said the new screen was working but she was going to run to Walmart to buy another phone like mine so she could use the power button for my phone. About 40 minutes later she had my phone completed but the color and brightness were way off and I am not able to adjust it back to the way it was. Also the store had an odor like old socks. Try to find someone else to fix...
