Hitherto is a cool place. They have a huge number of board and table games for sale as well as a nice selection that you can play while you are there. It's divided up with half walls that gives you a sense of having your own space without feeling isolated. The different areas have different size tables so whether you're by yourself or have a group of six or eight people you can find something that will work. The power outlets for both AC and USB power are plentiful. All in all it's very well done! The food selection is a little limited but what I've had is very good. There is a nice variety of coffee drinks and teas. There are a couple of things I think they can do better. Even though they have a detailed menu of coffee drinks and teas they have available they don't seem to have anything for their food items. I like to peruse a menu instead of having someone verbalize the selections to me. Even it's just a whiteboard of the days selections I think it would be very helpful. The second thing is I think they could do a better job announcing when your order is ready. If you decide to head back to your table instead of waiting up by the counter you can't hear them announce your name. Both of those things are minor and definitely will not keep me...
Read moreI genuinely love Hitherto. I love the opportunity to try many games before purchasing something and have done a lot of holiday shopping there over the years. The food and beverages are delicious! My only genuine complaint is that I would love more gluten-free and lower-sugar options. I like the concept and layout of the store but I was extremely frustrated this Friday evening when I stopped in with friends. Every single table in the establishment had a "Reserved" sign on it. There wasn't even a spot to stand and enjoy our beverages. So we weren't able to check out any of the games. After consuming our snacks & drinks in the car, we opted NOT to go back in and browse the merchandise in the crowded retail area. I understand that they were busy, and the tables might have all been occupied without reservations; however, it was busy and several tables were empty, but reserved. I would love to see this incredible, beloved local hot-spot continue to thrive, but perhaps they should expand and/or revise their reservation practices so that more spontaneous patrons like myself could truly enjoy what they...
Read moreGreat place. I've visited twice now. Each time I got something different from the coffee shop based upon the recommendation of the barista behind the counter. Both were fantastic.
They also have a great selection of board games as well as a smaller selection of sealed MtG products in addition which was nice to see (no singles, this is by no means a card shop).
I purchased some sealed MtG products last week at a great price. This week I purchased four board games that had been on my wish list as they had an awesome 20% off sale going on this week. Baristas told me the sale ends Saturday at close and I highly recommend you stop in before then as they already have competitive prices without the sale.
They have some smaller and larger tables for people to hangout, bring a board game, or work on their laptops. Free WiFi though I haven't used it so I can't attest for it. Quiet atmosphere. Friendly staff. Nice little gem that...
