A beautiful, heavily and completely shaded walk through wetlands and such. Much of it is a boardwalk or paved loop. Strange that it is in the middle of the city and well hidden. Proximity to Friendly Center wouldn't be known had you no geographical awareness of Greensboro.
Serenity Falls is a good stop and not on the main trail. Easy to see from the trail though. Good photo opportunity. The name fits it perfectly. Greensboro did a great job with this.
Just beyond the falls on the main path is a stop at a pond. Signs about not feeding geese and such are here. I have talked to a lady sporadically over a 5-year period or so who comes every Sunday morning regardless of weather. She parks here and relaxes for a couple of hours. Amazing that she is always here and we have exchanged stories, bios, etc.
You will see wildlife such as owls, squirrels, chipmunks, turtles, etc. You will also hear owls with their "who" as you walk the loop.
Never busy and this is great. Good secret I guess.
Greensboro did a fantastic job with it and this is a great serene walk away from the hubbub of the...
Read moreThis place is great for everyone. A true gem in Greensboro. Great if you just want to spend sometime all by yourself or if you want to bring the whole family. I made the wrong turn and stumbled onto this great park. It was raining but we decided to explore it since we were already there. The statues and the landscape go in perfect harmony. To us the best part was the Bog garden. Don't miss it. it's across the street from the main entrance and a very short walk. It was flooded in parts ( it's supposed to be, is a Bog!) which meant the creeks were flowing. The " water fall" ( i think is man made) is perfect for taking pictures. If you are in the RTP area is worth the 40 minute drive. Will be back on a sunny day with my 8 yrld. This place is perfect for the kinds to disconnect from their iPads, cell phone and play station and just run...
Read morei can't get enough of this place. as a wildlife and nature photographer, there is never a shortage of things to take pictures of. this spot has recently become popular due to its family of nesting barred owls. this year saw a successful brood of two babies, who are delighting and aweing people of all ages. but even for non-photographers, the bog garden offers a beautiful refuge for getting away from it all with walking trails that wind in, around, and through this little park...and even features a little waterfall. it's beautiful year-round, but spring is really when it's at its most impressive, when a vast and varied collection of native plants seem to erupt into full bloom. the sights, sounds, and smells make a perfect setting for a romantic walk with your special someone, a stroll with friends, or a short...
