**ADMITTEDLY BIASED - but Still Blown Away Review: On 4/13/24 my wife and I had lunch at the CAVA at W Friendly, and though admittedly biased (as CAVA) is our favorite restaurant, we were blown away at the particular high level of customer service of this teams front line employees! Once finished, we spent the day at the local parks and visiting family, ultimately returning to CAVA later that evening for our dinner. Here again, the same crew were still at it and doing it incredibly well. "Malik & Leah" recognized us from earlier while working on our orders - We were able to explain that we currently live in a state without a CAVA, so our visit home to visit family friends always includes a CAVA visits. We also shared that we'd visited another CAVA earlier in the week in a Western part of NC that was unfortunately horrible in service, and cleanliness which was surprising to us - perhaps a bad day? I mention this here as that was our springboard conversation w/Malik & Leah - and though a quick exchange, it was evident this team get's what it takes to work well for it's patrons, which is becoming quite uncommon these days.
Lastly - Shout out to the young fellow with the "hipster'ish" hair cut & sleeved tattoo's - That guy hustled, seemingly working any/all position as needed! His customer engagements were likewise on-point!
CAVA at Friendly - you quite literally made our day, twice...
Read moreOk I LOVE Cava. It had been recommended to me for a while and I just never made it over til now and am so glad I did. Think of it like an Indian-fusion version of Chipotle. There’s so many options for what you can make. I personally got a “grains and greens” bowl with romaine lettuce and their saffron basmati rice. I got the tzatziki and red pepper hummus for “dips” (they just add it on top), grilled chicken, avocado, more shredded romaine, and feta for my toppings, and then got the garlic dressing and yogurt dill for my “dressings”. You get a free, warmed side pita (delicious) and can get a side of pita chips for an extra fee which I did, they are so good to snack on for later! They have a few hand-held dessert options. I got their blueberry lavender tea/lemonade drink which was sooo good and they have other lemonade and tea options as well as sparkling water and soda. My friend got the new spicy falafel bowl and that was also super good. Everything is so customizable, you can be as safe or as adventurous as you want, and the staff is really helpful in giving you information on some of the toppings and dressings that you might have questions about. I had never been here so I asked about spice levels and what was most popular and things like that. There’s plenty of seating, including a nice little outdoor area, and it’s very clean. Definitely...
Read moreCAVA’s Garlic Chicken + Veggie Pita: A Flavorful Experience with Room for Improvement
During my recent visit to CAVA in Greensboro, I tried the new Garlic Chicken + Veggie Pita. This pita features grilled chicken, roasted vegetables, tzatziki, feta, tomato and onion, pickles, cabbage slaw, and garlic dressing.
Taste and Ingredients: The combination of fresh vegetables, creamy tzatziki, and tangy feta created a delightful flavor profile. The garlic dressing added a pleasant zest, enhancing the overall taste.
Temperature Issue: However, the grilled chicken was served lukewarm, bordering on cold, which detracted from the overall enjoyment of the meal. Ensuring the chicken is served at a hotter temperature would significantly improve the dining experience.
Beverage Highlight: On a positive note, I sampled the Blueberry Lavender drink, made in-house from a purée of blueberries and lavender. It was refreshing and complemented the meal well.
Rating: With warmer chicken, this meal would easily earn a higher rating. As it stands, the temperature issue holds it back.
Conclusion: CAVA’s Garlic Chicken + Veggie Pita offers a flavorful blend of ingredients that showcases the potential of their Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. Addressing the temperature concern would elevate this dish to its...
