I went to Belk at Friendly Center to pickup a ring that I ordered for my wife this Christmas she showed my she liked. I knew from the size I would have to send it to be resized but spoke with a very nice department manager of that area said she was going to try to have it back by 12/12/24 for me to have it in time for Christmas. I had not heard anything by 12/16/ 24 and went by to check on it. It wasn’t back yet but the nice lady said after calling it should be there in a couple more days and to see her and she would give me a gift card for all my troubles. Also while I was on 12/16/24 I saw a Louis Vitton bag she would like. The lady got it out and told me it’s was 25% off. So I bought it for $1400.00. A few days later I was telling my sister in law and showed it to her. I felt embarrassed after she started checking it out. I’m not making excuses but I was never told it was a used bag. She pulled out all the bubble wrap and paper they put in it and showed me all the makeup and what looks like ink stains in it. The leather attachments that hold the handles on look like they are water stained and the yellowish looking zipper color is worn to silver color. I would never have bought my wife a used purse of any kind. I’ve bought her Louis Vitton before from their stores and paid several thousand dollars. When went back to check on the ring again around the 12/18/24. I spoke with an assistant manager named Taylor she looked at the bag and wrote down everything I showed her. She took my name, phone number and email. She said she be in touch, I asked her if them exchanging it or returning, she said she didn’t think so due to how it looked. I waited 2 days before Christmas to see if Taylor heard anything, she would never come to the phone but had an HR manager tell me there was nothing she could do. She Never give any consideration to contact herself like she told me. I went to Belk after my wife got off work to check on the ring and ask another manager about the purse. A guy that was Richard some kind of manager in which he could have cared even less than Taylor and just walked away. We got a refund on the ring that never came and tried calling the store manager Lorraine but never heard back with all the terrible customer service we received after spending over $4000.00 at this location. I’ve contacted their corporate office and my attorney. My wife means everything to me and don’t appreciate how all this turned out. We are filing complaints with the BBB. I know not everyone at this location is not ruthless and deceitful as the management but I will never purchase anything from this store again I promise with this type of treatment to let everyone on every social media outlet know about this. I was told by corporate officials that was be escalated to Belk Executives. This will not be the end of this until it has been...
Read moreI’ve been shopping at Friendly Center for years now, and it’s honestly one of my go-to spots in Greensboro. I probably end up there at least once a month for shopping, food, or catching a movie. What I Love About It The variety here is what keeps me coming back. You’ve got your typical anchor stores like Belk and Macy’s, but then there’s also some really nice spots like the Apple Store, REI, lululemon, and the new LEGO store. The Carhartt store is a nice addition too. I love that I can knock out shopping, grab groceries at Harris Teeter, and browse Barnes & Noble all in one trip. The outdoor setup is way better than being stuck in a stuffy mall. The food scene is solid. I’ve tried a bunch of the restaurants - Fleming’s for special occasions, Cheesecake Factory (worth the weekend wait), and Chopt is perfect for a quick healthy lunch. The Regal theater has those comfortable recliners where I’ve definitely dozed off during a few films. The Not-So-Great Stuff They really need EV charging stations - it’s 2025 and a shopping center this size should have them. Bottom Line Friendly Center isn’t perfect, but it’s been my main shopping spot for years. It’s got everything I need, the outdoor setup is pleasant, and there’s always something new. Where else in Greensboro can you shop, eat, and catch a movie all in one place? If you haven’t been in a while, definitely check it out. Just avoid Saturday afternoons if you...
