My experience with East Carolina University’s College of Business has been nothing short of a disaster. As a former MBA student, I expected a program that valued professionalism, communication, and accountability. Instead, I was met with systemic incompetence that left me in financial hardship and forced me to withdraw from the program entirely.
Here’s what happened:
My tuition waiver was submitted on December 6, 2024, but wasn’t processed by the December 17 payment deadline, forcing me to pay $840 out of pocket to avoid being dropped from classes. Despite repeated attempts to resolve this, I received little to no help from the administration. My emails to Dr. Lee Grubb, the Senior Associate Dean of the College of Business, were completely ignored. Escalating to the Chancellor’s Office finally yielded a vague apology and yet another delay in processing my refund. This lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable, especially from a graduate program that claims to prepare students for leadership roles. How can the College of Business teach effective management when their own administration fails so profoundly?
