Goodwill Central Coast — Attraction in Grover Beach

This is my favorite thrift store in the five cities area (and there are quite a few). I agree that at times the prices seem high, but if you find a quality piece, it's not really true. The BEST thing about this store are the friendly employees. They are all so professional, helpful and kind. Whoever does the hiring and training, good job. I watched an employee named Elaine chat with an older lady who was buying a few items. This woman was lonely and just needed somebody to talk to for a min or so. I was in line, watching and waiting. It was a sweet moment of connection between the two of them that I felt lucky to witness.. Elaine then apologized to me for the wait. I told her it was more important to be kind to our elders than be in a hurry. Also, I LOVE the music they play in the store, people are often singing or humming along as they shop. It's a happy place...

Things are overpriced here, this is a second hand store people, where are the profits going? That they are charging so much and everything is not in the same condition so the prices shouldn’t all. E the same, and if they are they all need to be lowered! I can go to Ross, Marshall’s, Walmart etc. and buy a brand new pair of shorts, go for all clothing for what you are charging! Ridiculous! Always a variety of things and usually find what I came looking for. One time I found a super nice jacket that didn’t have a tag on it, the girl took it from me and said they couldn’t sell it. I should of asked for a manager. I think she really liked it and wanted it for herself, as another time I went in there after that, and a pair of shoes did not have a price and the guy at the register came up...

Real nice selection of clothing. A little foul smell. Employees were pleasant except Rita. Very grumpy and scolded me when I took two clothing items to give to my aunt so she could give me the 2 remaining items I needed to try. She wanted me to get out and get in line again to try on those 2 items. There were 3 dressing rooms and 1 young lady in line. I took in 5 items and am a 69 year old who has a difficult time being about. She ruined my day. I couldn't help but wonder if it was because I am hispanic because she spoke so sweetly to the next lady who was white Anglo and didn't even mention to her how many items...
