Sadly Covid ruined our opportunity to go to ATL to see The Eras Tour which I had surprised my daughter with tickets to at Christmas. Then when the movie released I got tickets right away however we didn't get to go opening night because my daughter was having some health issues. Finally we were able to go last night but I WISH we would've went to another theater. The girl working behind the popcorn area was SO rude. I asked her for an extra Eras tour cup and she said, We'll that will cost the same price even if you don't get a drink in it." I replied it was fine I just wanted my daughter to have a cup as well but she didn't want anything to drink. They didn't roll credits at the end of the movie so I wasn't able to surprise my daughter with what Taylor placed at the end to thank the fans.. Then I had forgotten to ask for a poster so we walked over to the same girl and I asked nicely if we could get a poster. She looked at me like I was asking to borrow her car and said, "I don't think we have anymore." I replied this time with an "ok" and made a face at her like • why do you have to be so rude • and she then used her earpiece and said annoyingly to the others that worked there, " Do we have anymore eras tour posters?" She looked at me and said (once again) in the most bland annoyed she even worked there way " We are out." Customer service and the way that you treat people go a LONG way. If you hate your job- get a new one. If you don't feel well or are going through it- I get that but you still don't have to be a crab to customers! Even my 8 yr old said something about this girls attitude once we got outside to leave. That's...
Read moreMan what is going on with this place. I used to visit all the time but recently basically all summer this 14 screen theater never has more than 6 movies showing and typically isn't showing any movie more than four times a day. Seems like a huge waste. I've been having to go to the AMC at the wharf which is much further away from my house just to catch a movie. Take for example we wanted to see a new horror movie called the Substance with Demi Moore it's been getting a lot of buzz but CMX isn't showing it they are currently only playing 6 movies in a 14 screen multiplex. We ended up going to AMC to see it. Also, when we went to see Twisters I would say skip buying any alcohol because it took forever to get a beer. I guess the kid behind the counter wasn't old enough to pour the beer after he examined my driver's license like a hawk and then telling me it had expired when I had to point out that he was reading the date it was issued and that it didn't expire till 2026. He had to call a manager who took forever to get to the counter and they had a sour attitude. We were like the only people getting concessions I'm sorry you had to walk from wherever to pour a beer. Then being kind of pissy telling me I can only buy 3 beers during the movie which I'm not going to do simply because of the price. Overall skip this place if you're looking for any movie that is older than two weeks or is a smaller title. The theater was fantastic as the Cobb but in the years since the CMX takeover seems to get worse and worse for...
Read moreI took a large group of friends to see Avengers: Endgame there on opening weekend and the picture and sound quality was absolutely terrible. The bulb on the projector had clearly been adjusted to be much more dim than it should have been. This is a common practice at some theaters that aren't interested in picture quality or the audience's moviegoing experience because if you don't burn the bulbs as brightly as intended, you don't have to replace them as often.
Now, I know what you might be thinking, "Hey, buddy, maybe the movie you saw was just really dark." I would have thought that too if I hadn't just seen the movie the night before at a different theater where it had been projected properly! This might not sound like a big deal, but it really makes a difference in the visual information the movie is able to relay to the audience. Especially in these big, special effects movies that have huge action scenes where lots of things are happening very quickly.
The sound was also turned down so low that even during some of the big, loud, action scenes, I could still hear every time someone in the theater coughed or dug their hands around in their noisy candy bags.
From the state of the candy displays at the concession stand, maybe I shouldn't have been surprised that the management doesn't seem to care about whether people have a good time watching the movie either.
The staff was very friendly and helpful though, so at least it...
