We came for a sunset hike today. We parked at 520 Newton Lake Drive and then hiked along roadside walkways/trails by Newton Lake Drive southeastward towards Lakeview Drive, crossed two roads till we saw McDonald’s, then we walked along the trail on the other side of the lake. We were following the Newton Lake Trail Loop (3.3 miles) from AllTrails but ended up hiking the last quarter mile in wilderness and in the end even impossible to access so we had to cut thru somebody’s yard to get out to the E Lakeview Drive by Route 30.
So, hikers, don’t follow AllTrails loop when you hit Bettlewood Ave. Just cross the lake thru this road and get back to the trail by Newton Lake Drive, then you will easily close the loop.

Read moreNice walkways, plenty of shade, quiet areas. Kids play area is set up for tots age 2-5 and young ones from about 6-10. There's also a little stone shelter with wide gaps in the walls so it's cool on hot days. A very pleasant neighborhood park. I didn't see any large area devoted to softball. There is no parking lot so street parking is what you have to do. A lovely stream runs along one side of the park so you can fish or just watch the ducks & geese. The park is clean and well maintained and I'd recommend it for anyone who lives in the immediate...

And yes if I see you trying to steal turtles I will mess you up!!! But all and all it's a great place for the family. And please folks clean up after yourselves. That's the first and best way to keep are natural areas clean...
