Shamrock Deli — Restaurant in Audubon

The deli made sandwiches are OK. Probably will not be eating here again because this is the second time I’ve went here and I feel like they were so rude about my name. The first time the little girl took my order and spelled my name wrong, so when my order was ready, and The lady at the cash register tried to pronounce my name And she asked if she said it right I said no, but that’s OK because obviously I knew who she was talking to. Her comment was oh well, it’s not pronounced the way it spelt is it. and I Kind of said yes it is. I brushed it off because I said maybe it was a busy day. Everyone gets tired. either way my second time going here. Some other lady takes my order and as I’m spelling my name she’s writing random letters because I’m looking at the ticket right now and I don’t know where she got RA from. And she kind of just stopped in the middle of me spelling it again for the third time and just shakes her head and says it’s OK and just walks off. I find that really rude to the fact that my name is not hard to spell nor pronounce and I’m not picky about my name but it’s the way they acted. It was a little offensive. If you’re going to use the name system, then use the name system if not do numbers then that was rude. If it was the other way around I’m very sure they would be offended and again I’m not the one to care about how my name is pronounced so...

It wasnt busy. My one friend had to pick up food for her sister.. . Maybe 2 other customers. One was waiting for sandwiches. The other was disgruntled and l left shortly after we arrived. Anyway; upon entry my friends and I were welcomed and greeted almost immediately. Simple order. 2lbs of potato salad. After the order was placed we stood there waiting for about 5 minutes when an older woman approached saying we couldnt stand there.and it was a bit rude. Told her we ordered 2lbs potato salad 5mins ago(mind you it's already made just needs to be scooped in a ro go container). She was like Oh; why didn't you say anything?. Then she packaged it up we paid and left. Idk it was odd. Just found it weird that there were employees there than customers, it wasn't busy and we had to wait that long for potato salad.

My mom worked at Carmen's Deli in the 90s so I know how crazy places like that can get...but even on the busiest day it's not rocket science to package...

I was not impressed with this deli. The counter girl that waited on me was outside upon my arrival sitting on the sidewalk stoop. I don't believe she washed her hands nor put on gloves before dishing up my salads. I figured I would give it a try, when it was Shamrock Deli the ownership was horrible. This past week I bought their chicken salad, potato salad and macaroni salad. I wanted to buy some hoagie rolls, however, they were stale and old. Now this should have been a clue for me to just walk out of the deli. After all one would think that a deli store would have fresh rolls on hand. To add insult to injury my husband and I did eat the 3 salads and ended up getting sick. It was a race to the bathroom of could arrive their first in efforts of clearing this obviously rotten food out of their system. Do yourself, wallet and stomach a big favor and do not patronize Froggies...
