I had such high hopes due to the amazing reviews that this place has received, but I was extremely frustrated at the experience I had this morning. I never leave reviews, let alone bad ones, but I feel that this needs to be shared. I called that store this morning and explained my situation- my laptop needs a hinge adjustment or repair. It is only a hinge issue and otherwise my laptop is completely functioning and usable. The technician that I spoke to on the phone was amazingly kind and respectful. He thought he might be able to snap my hinge back into place, and he explained that if this was not possible, he could open up my computer and readjust the hinge for 60 dollars. He also explained that if he did need to replace the hinge, he estimated that it would cost between $100- $200. He was very clear that he could not know if I needed a replacement or a readjustment until the computer was opened. So I brought the laptop to the store, and the second technician I spoke to was unfortunately quite condescending and disinterested. Without even looking at my laptop, he told me hinge replacements cost $469. When I explained that was not what I was told on the phone, he told me it would take 2-3 days to check my laptop out and that I’d probably still have to pay $469.
Ultimately, it seems to me that the price you are quoted depends entirely on the staff that you speak to, and I am sorry to say that I would not waste my time.
As an update: I very clearly specified the make and model of my laptop during my phone call, there is no reason that I should have been given two different price quotes for a standard procedure. I was told the repair would almost certainly be between 100-200$ for a hinge replacement for this model IF it was necessary. When I brought the computer in, I was quoted $469 without any consultation. In fact, the second technician did not even ask for the exact make or model of my computer. Furthermore, I was discouraged from receiving a consultation. The technician in store told me I could leave it 2-3 days if I wanted, but that I would almost certainly be quoted $469.It is not the length of the consultation that I have an issue with here. I see many positive reviews for phone repairs at your establishment. But if anyone is seeking a standard hinge replacement/readjustment on a laptop, I wish someone had told me that the base price for hinge replacements at this...

Then pull a 60$ for diagnostic the tech did when it says free on the site and only sent back 191$. I never told them it wasn’t working I had no idea or needed a diagnostic or troubleshoot needed I told them why it wasn’t and paid for the repair needed but yet they want more $ for the same part they did multiple diagnostics on oddly! The store people and depot will work together. I don’t think ubreakifix is a whole scammer the company I believe the people inside the store are doing so. I was never giving any sort of compensation or repair done then charged for diagnostic that’s supposed to be free and if they did a troubleshooting that’s on them I told them why it was not working it’s clear as day why so u can’t charge me. They broke legal contract and this will go to civil court. Unless you fire these puke people responsible. Maybe not inside the store for locals but those dropping off from out of state 100% are. Never once did anyone even deny that they weren’t scamming me lol when idc if I worked for a place or not when I’m called out as that I’m gonna 101% make it clear that I wasn’t.

I had to contact the store to get an estimate, costing about $500. I paid then was told it would take about the same time to have the repair completed. After 2 weeks I called the store because I hadn’t heard back since submitting my payment. Danny told me staff was in and out being sick, but a staff member had reached out to inform me the hinges on my laptop were broken so it would be an additional cost. I never received a call or a message from the store AT ALL. This was frustrating, because now the cost to repair the screen would total over $600. This is not what I was told for the initial diagnostics. I informed the store I was not happy and would like to pick my laptop up. Once I arrived to the store to pick up my laptop, I was told it was still in pieces and not ready for me. I had to return another day to pick it up. Insane! At this point I called to cancel my Asurion+ subscription because this whole process had been nothing but a headache! After calling Asurion+, Danny called me to inform me the store would replace my laptop entirely because of the bad experience I was having with the store. I was told I would receive a phone call back with the exact laptop brand and model my laptop would be replaced with. Days later…no call!!! After another week, I went into the store to pickup my laptop that was luckily pieced together. The worst part and the reason why I am writing this review AT ALL is because now my laptop with a minor cracked screen WILL NOT TURN ON OR KEEP A CHARGE. I called the store the day after picking up the laptop and left a voicemail with my problem, NEVER received a phone call back. Now I am left to replace my very expensive HP Envy laptop on my own.
