Update review:

We talked about this experience with our other friend and she was shocked. She also came to Genki recently and she had a half plate of sushi left , the waitress just took it back without saying anything. 🤔

So it seems like the leftover amount should be too much or not , just all depends on the waitress’s personal standard !?

And the most displeased / tricky point is , the waitress never told us the extra fee and she even hurry up us to do leftover take out until we all packed , she said ok there is a take out cost extra $7.

And we don’t even know the $7 how to be calculated , it’s not on the menu and the waitress just told us we need to pay for that.

This is my first time give negative review on google , and I don’t like doing that. I just want to address out how we were treated in this new opened restaurant.

——————————————-

It’s a horrible experience. We came for a weekday lunch. We had some little leftover and the waitress said “ do you guys want to take out those otherwise we need to charge you for that.” So we take out those then the waitress said ok you guys are doing a takeout so it’s $7 extra. We all confused because she acted like if we take out the leftover then we don’t need to pay extra but she asked us pay after.

Honestly we don’t have so much leftover and her attitude was very rude.

We came all the way from Orange to try this new one but unfortunately we will definitely not come back again.

Not only me but also my friends never had such experience like this before at other all you can eat sushi restaurants.

I do not recommend this...

I don't have a budget and the food was okay (but the fried rice was too greasy, this is coming from a Peruvian), but I felt highly disrespected by the staff, especially the chubby lady who very, VERY likely talked shit behind my back. I didn't expect to receive a piece of paper and a pencil. This isn't a classroom, but they sure treat it like it. I had to concentrate and correct errors instead of relaxing fully. They couldn't even read my numbers, and I’ve had excellent handwriting since I was 10!! I’m a visual learner; I need to SEE pictures of them, of what they look like. Don't expect us to know the entire menu; it's unfair to those who know little about Japanese food. DON’T go if you have mental disabilities like me (I have depression, lead poisoning, and APD, and this restaurant severely triggered me like no other in my life) and/or are new to Japanese food. I ended up crying as soon as I left. I will never return, and believe me, I’ll be spreading the word. This doesn't mean I’m stupid, because I’ll get my bachelor’s in December. Genki is just not patient or friendly to special people like me. There’s nothing wrong with being special; there’s a lot wrong with the staff. The staff should really get retrained on how to have excellent customer service, like I do in my THREE current jobs and previous ones. IT’S NOT...

Wow, what an incredible experience, it’s hard to find the words to describe! My husband and I did the all you can eat, and what a pleasant surprise to find out that the all you can eat option includes almost everything on the menu! For $30 a person, it was an amazing deal! We couldn’t stop smiling as we sampled the soup, salad, dumplings, chicken wings, teriyaki, ice cream, and so much more. It was so nice the way they served it because they don’t give you too much, just a sampling at a time so that you don’t get too full and can keep trying other dishes. The best part, in my opinion, was the sushi. We ordered the Spider-man roll, the tuna lovers roll, and the pepper tuna roll. Oh my goodness. So delicious, every single piece, absolutely melts in your mouth. The flavors are so complimentary and the freshness of the fish is perfection. When I tell you that it’s been three days and I still can’t stop thinking about the food… I cannot wait to go back again. I am counting down the days. Besides the out of this world food, the staff were excellent and the service was very quick. There was even a little robot server that would bring out the food when the staff was busy with something else! So cool! We will absolutely be coming back soon with our friends. You will not be disappointed, please...

Went to Genki Japanese Cusine today to celebrate my birthday. It is an all you can eat sushi restaurant in Hamden, CT. Super welcoming and super clean with amazing selection of sushi and kitchen items. They have a lunch price of only $21.99!! Some of my favorites were the salmon skin salad, Genki dragon roll, sexy girl roll and so many more. I can’t wait to go back and try more. . Make sure to go check them out and bring your friends to try everything 😀. #allyoucaneat #allyoucaneatsushi #connecticutrestaurants #foodreview #foodie #sushirestaurant #hamdenct #connecticut #ctfoodie #ctrestaurants @
