Panera Bread — Restaurant in Hamden

Orders are always wrong.. I usually have an issue with ordering from this café, something is always missing or wrong but it's close by and I love Panera..

But today I ordered for myself and 3 other coworkers in West Haven. Not sure why it picked this café, I was assuming the others did not deliver. Anyhow, upon receiving the order (delivered by Door Dash which was left in the cold all the way across the parking lot away from my building after leaving instructions from the building - not receiving any call from the driver), I opened the bag and realized that a bread bowl was missing for my coworkers order. Upset, I called and they refunded me for that order. When it was time for my lunch, I went into the bag again and noticed that my soup was not there !!! That is so crazy to me. For all our orders, it was $60! For 2/4 of the orders to be incorrect is a horrible standard. The whole order slip was checked off, but clearly nobody ever really checked it ..

I wanted my whole order refunded, seeing as it was not only for me but my coworkers, I now had NO lunch to eat during my 8 hour shift, and I spent $60 for wrong, cold food.

For what is was worth, the lady manager I spoke to over the phone was very nice and understanding of my situation. She explained that the store was short staffed and extremely busy. She was the only good part of this experience, because she had good customer service. However she nor her manager could refund me my money because it was " too much". I know it was too much, I spent it !!!

Everybody makes mistakes and I am understanding of that. We've all had our days. But when one order is wrong, one never got made, and you spent your hard earned money to eat this food on your only 45 lunch break of the day, something's got to give.

Worst Panera I have ever been to. Panera is a staple stop for me while traveling and I’m so disappointed in this location. The staff was rude, the wait was long, just to find out they were out of stock on what I ordered. I watched everyone get their food that was in front of me in line. I asked the worker at the pick up window if my food was coming soon, she said I needed to pick up my food at the front counter. I told her I did not order online I ordered in store so it should be here. She didn’t have anything for me. I go back to the cashier and asked about my order, she said they don’t serve the item I ordered on weekends. I don’t understand why she didn’t tell me this when I ordered my food to begin with. I paid and waited over 20 minutes for food that was never coming out and no one bothered to tell me. I asked for a refund and the manager was so rude about the situation and begrudgingly gave me a refund. No apology for processes being messed up or me leaving with no food. Avoid this place and go to the Starbucks in the same complex instead. If I could give this zero...

Customer service is lacking at this spot .. I ordered a you pick 2 smokehouse chicken sandwich and a soup .. there was not nearly enough chicken on the sandwich… not even enough to fill 1/2 the bread .. when I went up and politely asked for more chicken and they were working on it .. then out of no where a girl walking by started explaining that policy only allowed them to put but so much on the sandwich… I can understand policy but they never even took a glance at the sandwich to see if my complaint was valid.. I was then told I was petty because I was “making people’s job harder” when all I simply asked was for my sandwich to be done correctly.. needless to say I will not be back which is a shame because it is my local Panera and I’ve spent a lot of money there… and prices are not cheap .. also don’t visit when the school next door lets the kids out they all hang out and make the place unbearable to have a...
