Martels Christmas House — Attraction in Hamilton Township

Cannot recommend this place. The owners of the house in the off-season choose to place offensive and vulgar signs and flags on their house, displaying the worst curse word aimed at those who disagree with their political beliefs spelled out in bold letters for all passers-by to see, as well as crude and misogynistic sentiments word and pictures. When some in the community said they were offended by this display, the owners and several members of the extended family literally went to a neighbor's house on a nearby street and threatened and cursed the occupant of that house and her young daughter. They also began jumping off their porch and screaming vulgar obscenities at anyone who dared to slow down to look at the signs they chose to display for all to see on their lawn (which in and of itself doesn't make any sense, since they displayed the signs for everyone to see - ???). I’ve been going here since I was a child with my sister and my Dad every Christmas Eve. I remember when it was more or less just starting out and it’s always blown my mind. It was literal magic coming here as a child. My dad passed away almost ten years ago now. I still go every year. I’m so incredibly grateful for this place. It connects me to my dad every year. Selfishly I want the older and more vintage Christmas decorations to be the highlight. I used to love seeing what was new every year and all the improvements and new ideas that were on display but now I just want to go back. I don’t mean to be sad or negative. This place really is the best. Everyone I’ve told about it or brought with me is floored. No one expects how magnificent it is and overall this is a favorite Christmas tradition of mine. I truly hope ppl keep the beautiful ambiance alive by staying sweet- keeping the parking issues to a min. Being courteous especially if your from not from our town. The community has managed to assist with this by visiting and staying kind for DECADES! WE DON'T WANT THIS TO END SO BE CORDIAL AND KIND ITS CHRISTMAS SPIRIT HERE. i repeat if your from out of town remembering this is a local neighborhood for most and we treat it with RESPECT!
