Rolling Knolls Forest Preserve — Attraction in Hanover Township

Cook County Forest Preserve District has an excellent piece of property that they have let fall apart from lack of maintenance. Their mowing plan during the summer is illogical, with some areas getting nicely mowed and other paths being overgrown. The published plan for improvements which can be found online includes a disc golf course which they have staked twice for construction but no work has been done. The proposed plan does not include a single continuous walking loop path which makes no sense to me. I use this park several times a week because I live nearby but my patience is wearing thin for FPDCC to start maintaining this property and get started on the actual improvements they...

Top tier disc golf in Illinois. Tough, fair and occasionally long track on an old bolf course. Get through the par 4s in the fairway to score big, but miss any shot and 5+ is looking you head on. Under par in a round is possible for an average+ player as is uncountably over for the inexperienced.

Love this place, few amenities but the park district keeps everything looking excellent.

Challenging course. A couple holes over 600 feet. Also some ace possibilities. The rough is completely unmaintained. Be prepared to spend lots of time looking for discs unless you're near pro level.
