Came there an hour and a half before closing. As I was walking up I saw that the door to the garbage was wide open and essentially blocking the entrance to the store. I had to close it myself in order to actually enter. I asked for a footlong Flatbread. The employee looks in bread storage cabinet, walks to the back for a second, returns and pulls the Flatbread out of the cabinet in 2 pieces. Didn't ask if I wanted a different piece, just started my sandwich with the bread that was torn in 2 pieces that weren't even equal lengths. I asked him to toast the bread first, he almost ignored me and tried to continue making my sandwich by asking what meat I wanted and what cheese I wanted. When he finished making my sandwich he didn't even cut it because there was already a tear in the bread, but the insides weren't cut. Early during COVID they would wear masks, but the last time I was there about 12 months ago, the owner who was making my sandwich came out from in back wearing no mask despite local regulations. He made my sandwich. I reluctantly paid, but decided to throw it out on my way out the door and drove to another establishment. I stopped going to them completely, as have many others I know from the area.
Last week I stopped in one more time to see if maybe they were masking again, but as I walked in the door, two owners were behind the counter not masked despite case spikes in the area. Walked out and will never return. Hygiene and public health doesn't seem to be at all important to these people. The new sandwich shop I go to is meticulous about masking, CSI gloves, the works. I'd rather drive the extra 2 miles and give caring...

Who wants to write that much for a review? And even worse, who'd want to read it? So far, I estimate that I am at 100 characters. What is the incentive of reaching a higher level as a local guide? Could it be just ego? Or just the desire of being appreciated? I started doing reviews as a way to help others avoid bad businesses, mainly to get back at bad businesses for being tricky.
