2 *’s… 1 for decent fries and another for having a cool atmosphere. Here’s the story… While the atmosphere might be cool that is about all this place has to offer. Our lunch started out fine but then it all went downhill. First I ordered a certain type of beer (which was on the menu) the bartender/waitress brought out the wrong kind. When I questioned it she said that they may not have the one I ordered and after fumbling around she said they didn’t have it because of some distribution issue. She stated the one she brought me was “similar” to the one I ordered though. I didn’t think it was and I didn’t care for it. Anyway, not a huge deal. It seemed like she was the only one working and I understand she’s trying to run the place. Moving on, we ordered our food which was put in wrong and we had to wait for them to bring the correct sandwich out. The food was horrendous. We had the “prime rib” sandwich and Nashville hot chicken sandwich. The prime rib didn’t even look like prime rib and it was so thin and dry I could barely eat it. Not to mention, it only had 3 small slices on it with a garlic butter spread that was basically a thin mound of smashed looking white stuff (see pictures). Not worth $15.89 at all! The fries were decent, I’ll give them that. The ranch dressing and the horseradish was quite watery but edible. Now for the Nashville hot chicken… First of all, it looked NOTHING like the picture on the internet. Which was disappointing because it looked great and that was actually why we chose to eat here. There were two large pieces of chicken but it had this sauce poured all over it (not tossed like the picture would lead one to believe) that tasted like… a marinara sauce mixed with some kind of hot sauce. Disgusting… I’ve been to Nashville and have had their hot chicken… this was not even close! Other than it being chicken, a sandwich and spicy, it was nothing like a Nashville hot chicken. It’s safe to say we will not be back. If you want an alright Nashville hot chicken sandwich, go to Rookies a little down the road and if you want a good steak sandwich, go to River Street Tavern Bar and...
Read moreDo Not Order The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich! I am almost laughing because this review from 4 months ago regarding the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwhich is exactly the experience I had. 1) The NHCS was the reason we decided to visit. 2) The NHCS picture online looked nothing like what was served. 3) The chicken might have been good (crispy texture) but the sauce was AWfUL. I literally could not eat it. Definitely not a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Definitely NOT the Picture on their website. Actual picture attached as well as screenshot from their website. It was served with 2 cucumber slices (no pickle!) and some shredded lettuce that would be right at home on a Taco Bell hard shell. Worst of all it was smothered in this nasty, inedible red sauce….why? Seriously, it was terrible.
The fries were good and the burgers my associates ordered were good, but I was left hungry with just the fries. The server/bartender did not ask why I was not eating the sandwich, or even seem to notice. The place was empty except for 2 groups of two at the bar. Kinda sad.
I was going to give two stars for the fries and burgers but it is clear they just don’t care about quality because the review from 4 months ago is the exact same experience I had a week ago. Copied below:

I’ve been to Chicago Pour House three times now since it’s right by my house, and I really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, the pizza—which should be a highlight—has consistently missed the mark.
The first time I ordered pizza, it came out raw. Not undercooked—raw. The dough underneath all the toppings was a gooey, stretchy mess with no rise or air pockets. To their credit, the server took care of it without hesitation (even though it was half-price pizza night). I appreciated that.
I decided to give it another shot because the flavors were there—the sauce, the cheese, and the toppings all tasted great. But again, the dough was raw. When I brought it up, they offered to cook it longer, which sounded like a fair fix. But the result? The cheese was burnt, the crust edges were charred, and yet somehow, the dough still wasn’t baked through.
I even mentioned to them that the oven temperature might be too high—it’s burning the top without cooking the base. But nothing seems to have changed. It honestly just feels like the kitchen staff either isn’t trained properly or doesn’t know how to adjust for the dough they’re using.
It’s frustrating because there’s so much potential here. The ingredients are solid, the service has been friendly, and I’ve been rooting for this spot to become a go-to neighborhood place. But after two nearly identical bad experiences with the pizza—and not seeing the issue addressed—I think I’m done.
I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I hope this helps the team recognize that there’s a real issue with how the pizza is...
