I stumbled into the Von Bargen's Hanover store six years ago with some raw tanzanite treasures hoping someone could help me set them in a unique way. Little did I know, Sabrina was about to forever change my entire perspective on the incredible world of contemporary jewelry artists. Not only did she help design and select the right artists for each piece (Mark Patterson for the traditional set surrounded by diamonds and Todd Reed for a raw piece set into metal with diamonds), Sabrina opened a dialogue between the artists and myself (just a college student) to make sure we were designing the optimal settings to highlight everything that made these raw pieces so special.
Thus started my love affair with the quality of the artists and staff at Von Bargen's. A pair of simple black Yossi Harari Mother's Day earrings remains my mom's favorite set to this day, and my Sarah Graham radiolarian drops still stop traffic on the streets of my new home in New York. Sabrina even arranged for me to stop by the workshop of Alex Sepkus in New York - what an opportunity to see how this fine jewelry is handmade by such a warm and caring staff. Even when I am fooled into buying far too basic studs from a corner shop in the New York diamond district, Sabrina comes to the rescue (without judgment) by enlisting world-revered artist Paul Morelli to save them in a gorgeous gold and diamond drop setting.
To me, Von Bargen's is the premiere tastemaker in the jewelry world with its expertly curated collection of the finest contemporary jewelry artists. Each store is staffed by knowledgable and kind employees who are wise and passionate about each artist and their work.
Somehow they find exactly what is going to sparkle best on each unique customer, because I just know when I wear my Todd Reed diamond crawlers or my Gellner Tahitian pearls the compliments will be flowing in...
Read moreVon Bargen's is my favorite jewelry store! I go to Von Bargen's frequently to buy exceptionally lovely presents and to augment my own jewelry collection. The Von Bargen's collection is a carefully curated, very unique and gorgeous assortment of artisan made jewelry. The owner and all her staff are very courteous, kind and helpful. They take the time to acquaint themselves with each customer and to learn the customer's preferences, price range and general taste. I consider that Sabrina Leonard is my personal jeweler. She is very in tune with my taste. She always helps me to find pieces that are just right for my purpose. They always are truly marvelous and they always are more tasteful and beautiful than what I would have chosen myself. Kelsie has also been great to work with. She too has assisted me several times very effectively. Von Bargen's also handles repairs and jewelry appraisals. The store has several trunk shows featuring individual jewelry artisans yearly. They are conveniently located in downtown Hanover , New Hampshire a stone's throw from Dartmouth College and many stores, businesses, banks and...
Read moreI had recently inherited my grandmothers engaement/wedding band (fused together) to propose to my now fiancĂ©e. As I found out, the stone had been replaced by her 2nd husband, and the ring needed work. No other jeweler took anywhere near as much time and care with this project as Sabrina, and the whole team at Von Bargenâs. Before going to her I was completely lost about what exactly Iâd be investing in. Sabrina was incredibly patient in explaining all of the options and guided me to the perfect stone that fit the setting and my fiancĂ©e a personality and style. Her and the rest of the team were so genuinely interested in how exactly I would be proposing and Sabrina even offered to help get the ring to the location! This was all 6 months ago and we now stop in to say hello frequently and discuss possible future projects. Just this past week, my fiancĂ©e lost a small diamond in the ring and was distraught over it. Sabrina and the team were able to assure her that everything would be fine and it would be taken care of at a very affordable price. I cannot of recommend them enough for your next...
