Just another example of this ever growing "totalitarian state" that we seem to be finding ourselves in. Its not like there weren't many great thinkers warning of this; Orwell, Huxley, Wells, etc. You see this is the outcome of letting any one entity, in this case the government, take complete control over a system. You get a "one size fits all" form of monopoly because there is no competition. This is even worse in the case of Penn Dot because it is suppose to be the authority. In the free market not only does the quality of product go up, but the prices go down. Not only this, but it also breeds innovation. There are better more efficient ways of handling paperwork, There doesn't have to be no parking, you shouldn't have to wait on the phone for 15 minuets and then sometimes they hang up and you want to beat somebody, You shouldn't have to ask very specific question to get all of the pertinent information about YOUR records, You shouldn't have to mail information to and from Penn Dot like its 1945, you shouldn't have to navigate a complicated system that obviously designed to overwhelm, confuse, and take money from people that are desperately trying to get out of its sticky web. To be fair we cant even blame the employees, I mean I do wish they had a stitch of integrity and would rise up and say enough with the bureaucracy. Though I fear this coming from further up the "food chain" and they ave been stripped of any power within the organization. there are arbitrary list of responsibilities and that's it. Just like a overbearing union there is an establishment of a "Class System" This is why encroachment of power limits innovation and we end up with "Standard". We the people still have the power to say enough, they have been left in charge and its a disaster like everything else the government does. The post office has literally never made money since its beginnings and yet fed-ex and UPS have been doing it for years. When can the people take control of the...
Read moreIf I could give a 0 or negative, I would. I’ve been trying to get a leased vehicle registered in the state of PA for 4 months. Today was my lucky day. Absolutely zero communication, follow up, or direction. Complete circus. After taking things into my own hands, Honda Financial sent them the title, POA, and authorization to register the vehicle. They received everything on 3/27/25. Then, I receive a letter in the mail from PennDot with different directions that I still cannot comprehend. I left three messages for Felicia G. Who never returned any call. Great customer service! I went on a Saturday and waited a hour only to be told, they can’t get into the mail room. Some lady sitting at a booth straight lied about who she was and how she was going to call me Monday. I was asked to park the car into a specific spot for them the verify the VIN. Paul Blart security comes to say it’s going to get towed because I’m still on the middle of this circus.
Today is May 13th. I got to PA in January. Solid group of people we all pay for...
Read moreI just called the DMV to get information about getting a title replacement. It took forever for the machine to actually put me through to a person, and when it did, it connected me to a very rude woman. I explained to her my situation and she had a very rude tone with me like I was wasting her time. She told me to just look it up on the website, and then after a few moments she was very rude again and said “are you looking it up or just waiting for me to so it?”. As I was about to reply, she out me on hold very unexpectedly, and then shortly after hung up on me.
I registered for a new title MONTHS ago, and since I live in Chicago now i cant just drive there to take care of this. The registry was sent back months later, and when I called and tried to figure this out, I was met with nothing but disrespect. Its very typical of DMV employees everywhere but who is holding these people accountable for how they treat people? I cant sell my car until I get this figured out, and now I have no idea how I am...
