I very rarely write a negative review for something, but last night’s dinner was one of the most unusual dining experiences I’ve had. I actually pushed this restaurant over the Ukrainian one my partner suggested.

We started with the tostones. The toppings were decent, and the tostones were okay. They weren’t bad, but I’ve had much better. Something was missing, flavor wise.

My partner ordered the mahi mahi special in creole sauce, which was also good. I ordered the first thing on their mainstay entree menu (chicken). I was served decent rice and beans and two chicken cutlets. You know, like an influencer would meal prep for a diet. The menu said they were marinated in mojo sauce, which I love, hence the order. I ate one bone dry piece, and when the waitress finally got around to check in/ask us about dessert, I asked ā€œwasn’t there supposed to be sauce on this?ā€ She pointed to the onion slices and said, ā€œoh, the onions are the mojo sauce.ā€ Like… I was giving you an out because there’s NO WAY this is the dish as it’s intended. Mojo sauce, if you are unfamiliar and also incapable of reason, is sauce. I’m assuming (hoping) it was pulled from the kitchen before it was finished. As I was packing up, I asked if there was any sauce I could put on it because it was dry. She said, ā€œI can only think of chimichurri,ā€ which made no sense since the special across from me was seeping in creole sauce. At no point did our waitress apologize or offer to make any changes- in fact, she didn’t even check in until my partner was completely done with his meal.

Anyway, I shredded the chicken and added spinach, salsa, and cheese at home. While this was a pretty good save, it would have cost me $4 to make at home (not $22). And my chicken isn’t dry and sad!

I couldn’t help thinking about the $2 tamales Masa makes on Sundays, and how mad I was that my partner had paid for my food. I gave so many outs and options to adapt the meal and apologize, and it just didn’t happen. The food all around me looked good, so I’m assuming this young waitress was just incompetent. If that really IS your chicken entree, ya’ll should be embarrassed. As a reminder, then chicken is already dead, and you don’t need to cook it to death a...

So went here with a few friends for the first time and let me just say we were not impressed. We had a reservation for when they first opened, it was 4 of us and we were on the smallest table they had there. When we asked to be moved they said we couldn't because every table was reserved. Though no one was there at the time nor for awhile after. My one friend ordered an avocado salad that literally was only sliced avocados with 2 raw onions on top. I ordered rice and beans with chicken and the beans did not have taste and was like soup, very watery.. Being Latina myself I was very disappointed. We ordered a few things and they stated they were out of these items though there restaurant just opened. My other friend asked for an ashtray because we were sitting outside and they brought one almost the size of the table! The waitress wouldn't come check on us as often as she should have and the bathroom toilet did not flush. When she did come to check on us it was to continuously ask us if we wanted our check. I asked her is she was trying to kick us out and she literally responded, "yes but in a polite way because we need this table for someone else." We couldn't believe it! It was pricey for the food and service. Not only will I not recommend this place we will not...

So I didn't know I needed a reservation but they took care of me and got me a table. Alison took great care of me. I saw that they had fried rice, so I made a huge request. I made my own dish of fried rice and Palomilla steak. She went to the cook and asked the boss. They didn't even blink. They just went to town and served up a nice plate of fried rice, steak, and a fried egg on top. Everybody around me looked at my plate, In awe, my neighbor tables asked about the meal. I told them, they just made this special for me. Alison came by multiple times and checked on me and the meal. She made sure that it was what I wanted and good. It was awesome. I finished by meeting and talking with the chef. He was very courteous and nice. I thanked him for going above and beyond. I also told him how nice everybody was. The restaurant is cute and in a really nice little area of town. This place is way bigger than you would think. They have an upstairs and outside seating. The Parking is really tough. But they have arranged a parking agreement with the Quality Inn, one block away. Nice. So, nice place, clean, and cute. The food is great. The service is fantastic. Parking is arranged. I highly recommend this little diamond. Come on by and get yourself a mojito, and some...

At first, the restaurant was difficult to find, we went around the surrounding area 3 times before the GPS finally told us to turn on the correct street. So first things first, before going make sure you trust your GPS. The restaurant is in a historic district in Harrisburg and it is a super cute area to walk around. After finding the restaurant everything was smooth sailing. Like most places the staffing was short, but the server was incredibly attentive. We ordered a delicious Malbec and put in our orders, which came out incredibly fast. I haven't had good black beans and rice since I was in Havana, Cuba and man do these hold up. The pork was so juicy and the beef was so tender it just fell apart. If you are looking for some good food that will warm your soul, definitely stop by.

LOS TRES CUBANOS Hershey Park, PA Within the actual theme park itself there are no many affordable or high quality food choices. Sure there are the generic frozen tenders, fries and burgers sitting under heat lamps, but if you are looking for restaurant quality food then hit up @lostrescubanos @los_tres_cubanos food truck. It has a simple straight forward menus with the classic fillings as well as creative u inquest ones such as Buffalo chicken and the Cuban. One will be enough to fill you but like me you'll find yourself returning for more empanadas or a side of yucca fries. Don't miss out on this mobile gem in the middle of the park. If you get a chance check out their brick and mortar locations as well. PS- the Cilantro Lime Sauce is bonkers!

This place has so much potential to be great but instead of being authentic to the culture, its catering to the city population. The food lacked the flavors expected from Hispanic food. Some items like the pork was great but the shrimp, beans and veggies didnt have any seasoning. The tostones didnt have garlic sauce so by themselves, they were bland. The empanadas were decent but nothing to rave about. The menu stated they had veggie empanadas but they said they dont have any which is disappointing for a non meat eater. The service was good and the waitresses were friendly. Although I didnt think the food was great, I would recommend for others to give it a try. Just know its reservation only and opened on Fri and Sats.
