Nixon Park is hands down one of our favorite spots—especially in the summer. There’s just something magical about Thursday nights here. The live concerts in the park bring the whole community together, and while the music plays, the kids are off having a blast on the playground or at the splash pad. It’s the kind of place where you can just exhale and enjoy the moment.

The beer garden adds the perfect adult touch—nothing beats sipping a cold drink, grabbing a bite to eat, and soaking in the summer vibes with friends and neighbors. And if you’re into pickleball, the courts are always buzzing with energy.

Nixon Park has this awesome way of making you feel like you’re on vacation without ever leaving town. It’s a slice of summer paradise, and we...

I was looking for the trailhead for the National Ice Age Trail. Although there are short sections of trail at Nixon Park, they did not connect directly to the main trail.

I found the trailhead a short distance away at the Aldo Leopold Marsh on Maple Street. The trail was slick with packed down snow from use. So I walked carefully. I could hear sandhill cranes but was not able to see them.

The hike took me to some pavement a couple of times. Then into Nagawaki Golf Course. My halfway point was Perkins restaurant in Delafield. About 3.6 miles from the trailhead. 7.2 miles round trip.

It was a pleasant day. Sunny with a lite wind in my face from the south. On the return hike with the wind at my back, I shed my jacket and gloves. Temps were around...

Beautiful park lots to do, two main playground areas for different ages, splash area, pond and river with small trail surrounding, baseball field, tennis courts, pavilion, rest room building, climbing structure, swings, sand area with digging claw mechanism, also a balance beam and parallel bars. Only drawback is the placement of benches...there are very few and basically none of them are useful for supervising children on the main playground. They don't face towards the playground or if they do they are VERY far away in other areas of the park. *Update: they added a few benches! And...

This has to be one of my new favorite parks! Well maintained, right next to the library and the community center, Nixon Park is a very spacious park, with sheltered seating and other seating too. They have a cute walking trail around a fountain with the Bark River flowing right beside. There are play amenities for older kids as well as the tiny tots. There is a splash pad next to it and the Fine Arts center is literally attached to the park. A peaceful park that anyone would love.

We have always enjoyed this park. They had a fabulous beer garden last summer with games. The park is great and the river walk is kept nice too. There is a splash pad here in the summer with public large covered picnic table space. Nice place to meet a group, host a party, or even have a date at the beer garden with their nice seating. Pic is of an Easter egg hunt there this year.
