Have come here alot over the last few years. Its 3 blocks from my house. Beer menu is strong and they switch out brews frequently. Prices are a bit steep but its hartland so not a big deal. Food is good for a bar. For the downsides.... the staff turnover is high so professionalism is lacking. Bar does not adhere to its own policy hours of operation They commonly close the grill early which is extremely frustrating for visitors. Ive witnessed visually upset customers on this regard and have been one myself on that front. Outdoor patio furniture is nice but dont bank on being able to use it even on nice days during hours of operation. Bar is typically short staffed so the outdoor seating is often closed and locked up; so even if you wanted to order inside and take your drink outside (presuming you were fine with nit having outside service) you cant physically access a chair. For a bar that advertises this as an amenity i feel its false advertising. For wisconsinites that spend 6 montus of winter indoors its nice to sit outside on sunny days when a restaurant advertises this ammenity. Possible liability issues...Chairs at the bar are flimsy at best. Dont lean back in them as they could come apart on you. If you do it youll see what i mean. Also the main entrance has a 5 inch step down and is commonly a hazard for guests on the way in and out. I would close it and direct traffic to the side entrance for safety reasons if it was my bar. Lastly the var manager steve who ive had many friendly conversations with recently used the F word on me and a friend ( both frequent clients ) for carrying in our bicycles (each with msrp's around 8 thousand dollars) due to the fact the patio was closed. Despite the restaurant being at half capacity or less he felt the need to confront frequent clients saying loudly the F word several times that we brought our bicycles in his shop. I get it its his business... he can do whatever he wants. However his professionalism was extremely lacking on this visit and for that and all the previously mentioned issues i wont be returning to beer "snobs" an aptly named...

Beer Snobs has Beer and Snobs

Beer Snobs is a local place we have visited a few times. It is located in Hartland right on the corner of Cottonwood & Haight Dr. Parking can be limited and sometimes you have to hunt around for a spot, but this is true of most of the area. I like the decor of the building and the design. There are large windows and garage doors that can be opened in summer. They offer many different kinds of beers and food. I am a fan of the large pretzel. It would be a good snack for a few friends, it is a big pretzel. I like the Mac and cheese pizza. It is something different you don’t see often. It’s worth a try. Mac and Cheese bites are good tasting and fairly priced for an appetizer. I am disappointed by the customer service, I have been here a few times and always hope that the next time I go the service is going to be better. It definitely could use some improvement. If you are local and looking for a place to try I would not hold my breath on getting good service plus good food. But its worth checking out if you are in the area. Right now I’m unsure if I’ll visit again. The customer service just puts me off to the restaurant despite the good food. The restaurant does not take reservations. Menu items would be $$.

I would give Beer Snobs a 2 out of 5...

We have always loved coming to Beer Snobs. It’s been our go to spot for a fish fry and beers. We haven’t been here in a few months due to having a new baby and were excited to go back and see how the new ownership was. Our server Kevin was great - we have had him a few times before and always had great service from him! Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food. Our kids chicken tenders were raw in the middle…and we didn’t notice until after they had eaten most of them and I cut one open to eat myself. My perch fish fry was super soggy and I couldn’t even eat it. It used to be multiple small crispy pieces that were delicious - now it’s one big soggy piece. Our server handled it all great and they took it off the bill. However, disappointed that the new owner didn’t come over and say anything. I’m used to some type of manager coming over to say something. The previous owner would always come say hi to every table and would come apologize if there was any issue. He always asked how our food and service was and it was fantastic 99% of the time. Hopefully we don’t get sick tonight! Unfortunately one of our favorite places we have been 25+ times, we will no...

Although it has been several years since I was here, today it felt like a whole new place, in a good way. If we were not in a heat wave we would have had a table outside, in a nice area. Instead we sat inside at a window and had a wonderful time. I remember the inside being a bit grungy and not impressive, but today it is really nice looking and inviting. And so is the staff, especially our server Kia. She was attentive but not pushy, as well as well informed. The chicken tenders were crispy and tasty, and the tater tots that came with them were yummy!!! The Cobb Salad was super fresh and plentiful. A single kid's order of Mac and Cheese with Tots was a hit. Let's not forget the Black Cherry Old Fashioneds which were just right. Our entire tab was $65 for 4 of us. There is the expected 3% charge for using a credit card. That seems pretty reasonable to me for the food, service and atmosphere.

When Beer Snobs first opened, I insisted on going. I am a HUGE craft beer fan. I’ve had over 1,200 beers but yet Beer Snobs still manages to find beers I haven’t had yet (they actually do a better job of it than my husband does). The food is great as well. I’ve had the mac n cheese pizza, Hawaiian pizza, and their salmon salad (they actually use wild caught salmon on it, which tastes really good)! The giant pretzel is a favorite of mine, but I only order it with a large group because it is, in fact, giant. I can’t count the number of times I’ve been back and I know I’ll keep coming back as the years go on. The outdoor seating and garage doors in warmer weather are wonderful. It’s a fun atmosphere, good food, and fantastic beer. And if beer isn’t your thing, they serve a mean old fashioned as well. Highly recommend.
