Check out Grand Slam. Came here with my friend Sid on a whim after some of our other plans fell through. You don’t really see a lot of locally owned businesses like this much anymore. The owner, who I think is DJ, was super cool. For most of the time - it was just me and my friend, so we did almost everything. The batting cages are a blast, there’s so many different modes. Imma be real with you right now - I was kinda killing it at the high school level… but they even have a wiffleball cage for little kids. But then we did the rock climbing, which came with a free batting cage token if the bell is rung and 2 climbs. Sid and I ended up joining in on a small contest with employees Ty and Kayla to see who could climb one of the walls the fastest. The employees genuinely seemed to want to be there, were having fun, and even went the extra mile. Finally, we did the bumper boats and this was absolutely the highlight. It was just Sid and I but dude, I got absolutely drenched. The boats are so much fun, easy to control, and you don’t just get mildly wet - it’s the real deal. The employees let us basically stay on for however long we wanted while they were closing up. It was an absolute blast. We didn’t try the ziplining or the arcade, but we definitely will be back to do so. The arcade is old-school, they have that glacier balance game and the movie stop one - so fire. You don’t see those a lot anymore. And then shoutout to the owner again because he blessed it with towels at the end. Prices are extremely reasonable too. Had a blast and is truly a highlight of my Cape Cod trip - highly, highly recommend. I’m also gonna include a photo of me in the batting cages because you’re lying if you say it isn’t...
Read moreIn response to the one star review. "Smog" is not the correct term at all. The street is busy for a Harwich road, but that's not saying much. The air is clean and fresh. The bumper boats are electrically powered, as appose to gasoline, which helps the environment 100%. The batting cages are amazing! You must just be upset that your can hit a fastball right down the middle (and if, for some reason the aren't down the middle, ask ANY of the employee's and they would be HAPPY to fix it for you) let me remind you, sir, the distance isn't the problem, it's you... Haha! Oh yeah, it's also summer time. People enjoy music; beach music. That's why music is played. Local radio stations for a local business!!
I go on the bumper boats every summer and have a blast! It is $7 a ride, for 7 minutes.. So it's only going to cost one buck a minute to soak your bratty older sibling (worth it, in my opinion!) I hit in every batting cage and never have a problem with the "distance". My favorite cage is the Rocket 80+, it gives elite hitters a chance to challenge themselves! The new mining for gemstones is very nicely priced and promises amazing finds in every bag! Overall, the staff is very nice and helpful, they've helped my little sister get on and off the boats along with helping her drive back in. The business is family owned and it really is 5 star...
Read moreWhat a treasure of a family owned small business! I've never heard of bumper boats despite growing up on the cape and my kids (5 & 8) had a blast, both taking a boat solo and blasting our family as we watch! The batting cages offered something for everybody, my 8 year old did slow pitched softballs and my 5 year old loved the wiffle ball! We passed on the zip line and rock wall for now since both kids are young and the height is intimidating, specifically for the 5 year old. Plan on spending about 75$ for an hour here of activities for the group. I believe the gentleman at the counter is the owner and was genuinely kind...
