Bagel dog "On the curve" in Harwich Port. Newly opened, so I gave them time to settle in. I was the only one in line. I got to place 1/2 my order with the mumbling girl who spoke to the counter top and didnt even look at me, before she stopped to speak to someone from the kitchen. Approx 2 minutes. I finished ordering an everything bagel, toasted with a schmear, a 12oz soda($2.50) and a bag of 3 shark sugar cookies($3) which were already bagged and ready to go. Total: $12.50 not including tip. A few minutes later, a lady came over and asked if I had ordered. I said yes, and she walked over to the pending orders machine and ripped my ticket. I had no idea my order wasnt even looked at yet. She said it would be done "shortly"(ok). 2 or 3 people came in after me. I waited, and waited. Imagine standing at a counter for 13 minutes, no music, TV, i didnt have my phone... 13 minutes seemed like 1/2 hour. 13 minutes to toast a bagel and spread whipped cream cheese on it. You would think their not having to wrestle solid cream cheese would have shortened production time, but no. I walked out to my car, took a bite of the bagel that squirt soft cream cheese all over the place. Guess what? The damn thing had absolutely no taste. An everything bagel with no taste! It had good texture and chew, but no taste. So I checked out the shark sugar cookies. Sugar in name only. There was some kind of glaze on the top with a sprinkle or two, but I dont think they used any sugar in the batter. My soda was very cold and appreciated. They are verrrryyyy slowww. Not one person in that kitchen looked like they could be bothered, and they all moved slooooowwwwwwly. Not one plumber, electrician, police or any service company had a vehicle in the parking lot. The customers inside were wearing Madras shorts and flip flops. Not locals. Should have seen the red flags. I'll never go back. I dont think they'll be there long anyway. I paid $12.50 for a 4 minute order that took 13 minutes. Its not about the cost if you get quality food and service. Someone (hypothetically) is making $60 per hour, for poor quality food and lousy service. The locals would keep this place open in winter if it was worthy. It is not. Not even a napkin in the bag...
Read moreWe went in for bagels but it was after noon and the bins were empty but I put a small orange juice on the counter while I ran in to use the washroom. When I got back out my husband had paid for the OJ but hadn't gotten anything to drink because they did not have any diet soda or water (he's diabetic) When he told me that the tiny bottle of OJ was $7.00 I almost went back in to ask if it was a mistake but we had already gotten back on the road...I don't know if that was the actual cost OR the woman just ripped us off (seeing we were tourists) but it was way too much. It's a little dive of a place (in the old A&W building) definitely not going back for breakfast tomorrow as we...
Read morePeople need to relax, this place is great. I came on a Friday morning and had ordered 2 bagels (one egg sandwich one lox open face) and had my food within 5 minutes. The prices are on the slightly higher end but the product of bagel is far better than most on cape. Any restaurant on the cape has hit or miss service, so give them a break in their first few weeks. The...
