Throughly disappointed in this ice cream shop. Ordered a coffee ice cream and it tasted straight up foul. I know this place is dairy free, but it tasted worse than expired milk. It left a bad after taste and it was sour. I had to throw my ice cream out after a few bites.I like the idea of dairy free, but this is just not it. Sweet Izzy ain’t it.
Update: since I am unable to leave a comment on the owner’s comment, here is further feedback.
As someone who has been dairy free for years and has been to many dairy free ice cream shops, never once have I read an owner review that said “We hope that you and your taste buds can find a happiness and joy. Sending you so much love.” Literally so unprofessional.
To add to it… I had individuals with me who do eat dairy and they felt the same way about the ice cream. I also am not sure how you could taste the ice cream from a week ago and then answer a review a week later? But you know to each their own. Wish best of luck in your future endeavors (hopefully it involves...
Read moreGrandeur is not measured in square footage. Sweet Izzy, a modest little shack with just enough room for two to work in graceful concert, proves this beyond doubt. Its size is its stage: a jewel box of flavor where every inch is devoted to the craft of vegan ice cream.
Here, the décor is warm and inviting, the picnic tables outside serving as the perfect place to linger on a summer day. But the real spectacle lies in the menu—an astonishing array of flavors, toppings, and both soft and hard serve, each prepared with a precision that belies the shop’s humble footprint.
Every scoop is lush and full-bodied, each swirl of soft serve a quiet triumph over the tired assumption that dairy is essential for indulgence. Sweet Izzy is living proof that compassion and excellence need no sprawling parlor to flourish—only skill, care, and a refusal to compromise.
Step up to the window, take your cone, and know that you are holding a...
Read moreThis is a new place adjacent to the trampolines on The Curve in Harwichport. I stopped to meet a friend so we stayed for an ice cream. There is no real ice cream - it's all made with some other kind of "milk." The "ice cream" was tasty but not as good as real ice cream. The service was slow and methodical, but I guess they will speed up when it gets busy. I was amazed when the server had no idea how to make change when I handed him $6.00 for a dish of coffee ice cream that cost $5.14. He seemed to be an American and spoke good English, so it wasn't a cultural thing, and he was not a J1 worker-student from another language area. He just didn't know how to make change!!
We enjoyed our visit and our fake ice cream but will probably not go back. If you can't enjoy milk products. I guess it's a good option for you. ...
