Step back in time to a neighborhood restaurant…no reservations…only serves breakfast…and only takes cash (no worries theres an ATM inside). Breakfast was everything you hoped it would be. Small tables tucked into cozy corners, waitstaff walking around refilling coffees, specials of the day written on the white board, and fresh homemade food. Prepare for a wait to get in; with no reservations and being a popular place, but the staff is like a fine oiled machine and knows how to move things along. The menu is massive with something for everyone…pancakes, French toast, breakfast sandwiches, eggs every way imaginable, muffins, etc… I went with a special of the day, the breakfast melt which was 2 eggs, bacon, ham, and Swiss on toasted sourdough with home fries. Great sandwhich, full of flavor, very tasty. The home fries were good but nothing to write home about. We also shared a toasted cranberry/blueberry muffin which was like having dessert. Sooo good. Definitely get a muffin and have it toasted. My husband got an omelette which was huge. It came with toast and home fries. He enjoyed it.

Just a great place for a great breakfast. We had eggs, home fries, toast, bacon and raisin bread french toast. Everything was cooked well. The bacon and raisin bread french toast were excellent. Our waitress was excellent. It wasn’t too busy so service was great. Hot coffee kept coming, our mugs never got more than half empty. Coffee was excellent too. In addition to great breakfast food, their prices have been kept down unlike a lot of other places i’ve had breakfast lately. 👍🏼👍🏼Two thumbs up for the Lighthouse Cafe.

Had the homemade corned beef, eggs, sourdough toast, home fries, and tried the lemon poppy and cranberry orange muffin grilled. The food, in short, was amazing and exactly what I look for in a diner. Kind people work here. Cash only, but there is an ATM on site. You walk inside and put your name on a list if there’s a wait.

I’ve been coming here for years as a local. Delicious food at a good price. This morning I came in to kill time before an apt and wanted something small like a breakfast sandwich. I’ve been trying to be mindful of what I eat and my weight. America has an obesity issue. I asked to add a veggie to my sandwich which was full of carbs cheese eggg and bacon with home fries. I need fiber to make it a well balanced meal. The waitress refused and said the only thing he’ll do is a tomato which is a fruit. No veggies. Not even on the side. What the hell is this place?! Why? The waitress wouldn’t even ask...

I appreciate this no frills breakfast spot. We stay nearby each summer and have stopped in a number of times over the years. Simple menu. Efficient and polite wait staff. Most important, eggs are always cooked properly, to order. Poached, sunny side, or over easy come with a nice runny yolk (unless otherwise specified). Scrambled are not hammered and overdone. This, in my opinion, is the measure of a quality breakfast diner. Tables turnover quick. Easy to slide in and out quickly with a party of two. Expect to wait on busy days for a party bigger than two. I'll keep coming back...
