I would give it a 0 if I could - absoultely unbelievable bad service. Shipped 4 boxes out on August 4th from my mom's estate to Colorado. 1 was not delivered and was sent back "damaged" even though my return address was on the label. I called the store and asked what was going on and she said i have no idea but as soon as it gets here I will call you. NO CALL. I look at the tracking last weekend and it says it was delivered back to the store on Wednesday the 12th and the tracking notice says Reaching out to sender. Um....still no call.... So I called Sunday not realizing they aren't open Sundays and left a lengthy voicemail with my number explaining I was trying to track my box and could someone call me back. I waited til almost 5pm on Monday - still NO CALL...so i called and when i asked about it and the voicemail i was told "we aren't open Sundays" and I said I realize that...but I left a voicemail asking about my box and it's almost the end of the day Monday and no one still has called me back and I was told "We are busy". She finally opens the box and says one thing was damaged and I was like ok so how do i get the rest of my box and who pays for it? She was like I don't know. So she assured me that the store manager would be in today and absolutely would call me - hmmm....here it is 3pm EST and yup you guessed it - NO CALL !! So i just called the store and oh the manager isn't here. I said well can they call me when they get there? And she said I guess so. I said well do you need my name and number? and she says....um sure...go ahead. Umm...no please don't inconvenience yourself....I will be happy to call back and give the store manager an earful about his wonderful...
Read moreI'll have to give 1 star to this store just to post my review otherwise NO STARS to this UPS store. Had a very bad experience with my recent shipment. It is still in the air. I shipped some official documents out of country on Saturday, Aug 18 and chose "UPS Worldwide Saver", paid $85 for it and I was told that Expected delivery will be 2 business days. I checked the status on Tuesday, Aug 21 and I was surprised to see the Scheduled delivery date to be Saturday, Aug 25. I called the store and the lady said that the reason it is saying on Aug 25th is because of other country's mailing system and UPS has no control over it so I couldn't say much to her at that time. But the funny part is that I checked the status again Today, Aug 22nd and I got furious to see that the shipment just departed Kentucky facility this morning so basically the packet left US after 3 business days. I called the store again and it was the same lady pretending as if she didn't talk to me yesterday and saying that whatever delivery date is promised on your tracking receipt is all "EXPECTED" and nothing confirmed so in other words she meant you can never count on our service to do something in promised time. Folks, please don't pay extra money to get packets out faster because guess what it's all expected. Never going to this store again. I also called the Corporate and the agent agreed to what I am saying and asked me to go back to the store and get...
Read moreI used The UPS Store in Hatfield to ship a 100+ year old Art Nouveau Vase won at Alderfer Auction. I worked primarily with Sierra throughout my arrangements and found her both professional and knowledgeable. She made all the necessary arrangement and dealt with the pickup, custom boxing and shipping smoothly and quickly.
She provided me the best quote for my specific requirements: extra padding and double boxing. The initial padding around the piece was excellent - small-bubble wrap at a thickness of about 6". The item was then placed in a box and surrounded on all sides with a single layer of medium-bubble wrap. I would have thought 2 layers were indicated. That box was then placed into the larger shipping box. This is where I found room for improvement - the shipping box was only about 1" - 1.5" larger than the inside box. When shipping extremely delicate items (antique porcelain, blown glass, etc.) 2" - 4" is recognized as the minimum area between boxes. Thus it allowed for only a single layer of large-bubble wrap around around the inside box with NOTHING on top.
I wish Sierra has apprised me of this wrapping approach and offered a more comprehensive (albeit costly) alternative. Yet, I myself failed to inquire with needed specificity. If shipping something delicate or of high value, it is best to pursue details.
All said, my vase arrived safe and intact. Well...
