As much as I want to love this store, every time I come in here there is an issue. So much so, that I’ve had to call GameStop corporate offices to get answers. I went in this GameStop yesterday 9/8/23 at around 6pm. The employees in the store were Raleigh and Eagle. This is the SECOND time I’ve preordered a game from this specific GameStop (less than a mile from my home) and they sold my deposit paid pre ordered game. To make matters worse, Raleigh who is allegedly the general manager of the store was rude, careless, and did NOTHING to rectify the situation. Instead he was condescending and dismissive. It’s unfortunate because after working all day taking care of sick patients I just wanted to pick up my preordered game, go home and play the new 2K24 Mamba Edition. I even asked how do you sell something that’s preordered? He said he didn’t know? Eagle was helping us initially and Raleigh NEVER stepped in until I asked who the store manager was and he was standing there the whole time pretending like he didn’t know what was going on. He is also the same person who is listed on my receipt when I preordered. So I asked him if he could check to see who sold the game since their names are on the receipt and he said he couldn’t find out that information. I was so disappointed moreso because I asked if he could find the game specifically the Mamba edition at another store and have it shipped there. He flat out said no he wasn’t going to do that and the best he could do was return my money. Like no customer service, no trying to help nothing!! Just an oh well we sold your game so here’s your money back. I’m so disappointed and frustrated. Now I have to go searching for this game (which is what I was trying to avoid) at other stores and pray it’s not sold out as it was just released yesterday. GameStop you have to do better!! Read moreThis GameStop has been local to me (kinda) and since I've been going to it, I guess I might as well write a review for it.
So, this GameStop is just like any other one with cards, consoles, accessories, and much more. It's a real cozy place to cool off and look around. MOST of the staff are kind and respectful, helping me find some items during my visits there. I understand this GameStop has a shortage in workers, so I only come once in a while when I know it will be open NOTE: The time it stays open can get a little choppy.
One of my concerns is that workers lack the time of putting the items ON THE SHELF. Usually when I ask for a pack of pokemon cards they pull it out of a box near the counter, which seems pretty lazy. Another concern is the schedule. THERE WILL PROBABLY BE BREAK(S) all around the schedule, so just keep your eye out on that.
That's really it for my review, so I'll give it 4 stars. It's wonderful and is functioning properly, but it does have some problems that could be fixed easily. Read moreUnlike all other Gamestops, this particular store had a very strong smell of cigarettes throughout the entire store. I suspect that's why there was a fan pointed to the opening entrance of the door, but that fan doesn't do much to mask the smell. I honestly believe it's one of the workers there who smoke inside of the store perhaps during pre-opening hours or after the store is closed. I doubt they'd let any customer get away with smoking inside freely to ruin the smell of the entire store. Shameful. Also, the Asian dude with the slightly long hair who rung me up was a little rude by not greeting me and instead commanding that i leave my bag in front of the store like 20 mins after being inside? And it's not like i would've complied with this because who leaves their bag in front of the store? I would've rather left the store immediately if he would've informed me that i needed to leave my bag in front of the store upon first entry of the store.
