Haverhill Public Library — Attraction in Haverhill

Forgot library card, told woman at desk who implied I was lying because she looked up my name wrong and said she couldn't find me in the system (like, who would lie about having a library card?) Working in a library doesn't mean you know everything. Also, the woman with a mole on her forehead got a little attitude because she misspelled my name at the door -- it does matter because it's my name. I don't understand the attitudes because the druggies and bumbs aren't there anymore. I guess people stay mad regardless. Or people get mad because they get corrected....

Basically a home away from home. Except for the occasional crying brat or noisy bed bug/sceevie carrying homeless person; the library is the place to be when you want to sit down relax read a book; use your computer or access the internet with one of theirs. Friendly staff; helpful knowledgeable. They get an A+ from me. Before I got a laptop to do work at home; I used the library every day of the week since 2005. Partly because I had no choice. The library cut their hours because of the COVID paranoia yet won’t answer their phone although google, the website, the phone, and the building say they’re open at that time. I went to enter at 1:30pm and there’s a sign you can almost see that says “closed for cleaning. Open Tuesday.” Update your hours please so people don’t have to...
