Beautiful beach!! Please, please please help to preserve this place...
requires a short hike down stairs and a fairly muddy trail. The trail is located at the end of the 1 hotel hanalei valet parking lot just before you enter the hotel. There’s a trail along the edge or you can walk through the parking lot to get to the top of the stairs and that’s where it begins. There are ropes along the edge that you can hang onto but it’s fairly steep and muddy. Do not recommend wearing clothes you want to keep clean. Also your hands will get dirty holding onto the ropes. I can see how the trail down/up can be challenging for some. If you have knee/hip arthritis or young children, you may want to try a different spot such as Anini Beach. Parking is also an issue if you’re not staying in the area as parking is very limited (no joke, like 10 spots). Again Anini may be a better bet if you’re not arriving early to snag the few parking spots. Hideaway is not a beach known for soft sand if that’s what you are looking for. It’s more like small gravel. If you want soft sand and calm waters, check out Hanalei Bay instead, but not much to see in terms...
