Great food. Worst service ever. We ( party of two)arrived on a Wednesday night. Got seated pretty quickly. Server was rude from the start. He walked away before we finished ordering twice. We ordered two pizzas two salads two appetizers and two drinks.I asked to stagger one of the salads to bring home with us To go. I ordered a beer and it didn’t come for 20 minutes, when it did finally come was the wrong beer and it took me another 10 minutes just to get our servers attention for him to replace it with the right one. I didn’t even complain or make mention but he uttered “ oh it was the bartenders fault” he said when it finally came back” showing no tact or humility. Don’t get me wrong. The service wasn’t all bad ,The runners for the table were great and should be moved up to serving in my opinion. It wasn’t a particularly busy night, but the server was nowhere to be found most of the time. He wasn’t on the floor. I don’t know where he was. People at other tables were having to get up just to get their Parmesan and pour their own water. One person that came with a party of five that arrived at the same time as us came up to me and said, “you’re still here”?”we will never be back.” After all is said and done and $180 bill by the way for two people the server didn’t even offer to take my beer off the bill but what he did do was add 20% gratuity without me even having the option. I asked him if that was normal for a party of two? “yes it’s normal” he said in a very short and curt fashion. No wonder he doesn’t feel bad about giving such terrible service because he’s guaranteeing himself his tip anyway. I’ve eaten at restaurants all over the world and never been forced into a 20% tip unless the party was big, like five or more people. As a local resident, I find this very disheartening. I’d love to go back for the food, but will no way be putting myself...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed nearby at the 1 hotel and were looking for good pizza in the area. We found Hideaways on google and decided to stroll over to check it out. Upon entering, we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server told us upfront there were only two people working (the cook and himself) that evening and to expect a wait. We didn't mind since we had nothing to do and weren't extremely hungry at the moment. We received our drinks promptly and food order taken quickly. As expected, the pizza took a while to come out, I don't know how long because we were not in a rush so I never bothered to check the time. Once our pizza arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. The sauce was fabulous with great flavor, the crust was a mix between pan and hand tossed. Just the right amount of crisp.
I rated our overall experience as 5 stars but a few things should be noted with regards to service. Our service/host/cook (or whoever he was that night) took way too much time chatting with another group sitting nearby. Multiple times he stood at that table and was fixated on whatever they were discussing at length. Several times during our dinner, we could not get his attention, he simply never turned our way. The entire time we ate, I never had my water refilled, we never had silverware, and we never had napkins. It wasn't until the end of our dinner that we caught his attention and asked for napkins. As for my water, I had to drink my husbands since mine was empty and I was very thirsty. So a note to the owner, I understand being chatty with the customers, but when short staffed, I recommend limiting excessive multiple table side chats when the entire restaurant requires your attention as well. Still rating a 5 because the pizza was the best I found on the...
Read moreAlways liked this pizza place until recently. Been regulars past several years and always told others how much we enjoyed it. When we arrived in early March we were told “pizza “ only now - no pasta. So we’ve been getting takeout pizza with some long wait times even though order was called in. When my 2boys plus family, as well as my husband and I arrived at 5:15 pm on a Saturday night, we ordered 4 pizzas plus beer. The drink order was a half hour wait. After one hour 2 pizzas arrived that we’re over cooked and cold. My son & friend waited 10 more minutes for their pizza but ended up having to leave to catch a flight. It finally came out 5 minutes later so my husband left (with pizza) hoping to get their food to them before they left our house with luggage. My other son, daughter-in-law, and 2-1/2 grand-daughter waited another 15 minutes at which point they wanted to leave and go somewhere else so I complained to the waitress about the wait time and service. Rather than apologizing for the wait, cold pizzas, and “no” pizzas, the manager came out accusing me of upsetting her staff, cooks and employees by the negative energy I was creating in their workplace. All I did was complain about the service and wait time‼️ At that point I WAS upset but kept the conversation controlled while continuing to clarify the problem. Manager claimed I was yelling and pointing my finger at her. I suggested she find “a safe space” if hand articulation and customer complaints were outside her capacity to manage a restaurant...
