The Falcon is very impressive to see up close. The very Boring tunnel entrance is next to the parking garage. There is also a Tesla charging station so you see the latest Tesla cars running around. The prototype Hyperloop tunnel for testing designs is across the street from the Falcon. Instead of selling boring hats or flamethrowers to raise money and interest Elon should charge for a guided tour. He could then dominate the So Cal theme park business.
I am amazed they have kept the locals from covering the Falcon in graffiti. There is a 24 hour security guard at the entrance to the plant. There is also a bridge from the parking garage to the plant. It is not available...
Read moreFabulous for what it is: a paved area with the first returned booster stage on it. We public are separated from the rocket by glass barriers. I suppose allowing people to touch it would be a huge liability...no idea what chemical hazards there might be on that lower stage. What matters is the excitement this system generated for space enthusiasts. In a way this fulfils the promise that the shuttle did not: practical reusability, lowering the barrier for getting to orbit. Being able to see it up close...
