Waikiki Hawaiian Grill — Restaurant in Hawthorne

Husband and I came out of the gym and figured we should try this place for the first time. We had a terrible experience!!! I should’ve asked for my money back. I know this isn’t a fancy restaurant and I do have a few recommendations on how to improve customer service. Let me explain what happened. When ordering, we asked if the fish platter came exactly like the picture. We were told by the two cashiers that it does. After we receive our order, we realized that that the fish isn’t plated like the picture in the restaurant at all. I asked the girls to confirm if our food is correct and they said it’s still two pieces. It was more like 1 piece and a nugget. My advice is to ask the cooks if you are not sure. Food is too expensive and I do not appreciate being lied to.

I noticed the picture had lemons as well. When I asked for lemons. One of the girls gave me the total to charge me. I asked if it comes with the plate since we didn’t get any. The other girl asked if we did, I said no. She comes back and hands sliced limes. I don’t understand this but I had no energy to talk with these girls. We decided to never again...

Wow! My favorite place the owners are nice. I didnt appreciate how an employee they were training was taking down my order like she was seriously concerned. I ordered jalapeño shrimp specifically and she gave me jalapeno chicken and I told her and the boss looked at her and the cashier became scared, lied and pretended to look at the receipt and said"no she ordered jalapeño chicken" like I did not know what I ordered. The cashier tried to save herself so she wouldnt get in trouble on her behalf. She tried to tell the boss I didnt order jalapeño shrimp when I had a witness present. It was so beyond disrespectful that I didnt even eat the lie meal and gave it to the homeless. The bosses and cooks are the sweetest, delicious food and will make you extremely happy and appreciate every customer sincerely beyond belief. Really love the food here. I mean so delicious. I would go to Waikiki multiple times a week to get their Hawaiian fried rice. Definitely was one of my favorite places to eat. Unfortunately, the service from one lady has made EVERY SINGLE visit horrible. I have tried looking past my experiences so many times because the food was worth it. However, after my last visit, I just can't do it anymore. I refuse to be disrespected and treated with such NASTY attitude. I always try to keep a smile on my face and show fast food workers and cashiers the most respect because I know how difficult it can be for them.
