Northgate González Market — Attraction in Hawthorne

Im giving northgate bakery. Rating 1 star. Because of bad customer service. And my son birthday cake. And smash cake. Along with cupcakes. They mess up on. I order the cake days before. Was told to come in the morning. That way I can speak to someone in bakery. That actually does the design etc...Spoke to a lady name Lefty? Which ensure me what can be done. With the cake I wanted. I was hesitant on ordering from them. I was gonna go to Lupitas bakery. But again Lefty ensure me. They can do what I wanted. Plus the fact that one of the decorators. Came from Lupitas. Which made me feel much more comfortable. I was told to bring in the picture. Which I did. And sent one to her phone. Order was taken. Many notes were written. Even had another manager go over it. To be clear! I wanted to pick up the cake day before. Because this place gets so crowded. No such thing as in and out here. I go to pick up the cake friday. Low and behold I spotted my 2 tier cake sitting. I was not pleased. Well at least with the bottom of the cake. Lines were not how we discussed. And not straight at that. Cupcakes were sloppy yes cupcakes! And my smash cake. Was a mickey mouse design. Which came out good. But the colors wrong. Mickey colors were orange instead of yellow. I spoke to the manager. Adolpho? And told him what was wrong. We went over. What needs to be done. I CLEARLY SAID...THE TOP OF THE CAKE WAS FINE! Only the bottom. Cupcakes need more color etc...Smash cake needs correct color. I was told I can come back in the a.m. Day of the party. Which of course I was late. Get there and they change the whole dang cake! Taking off designs from the top tier! Not adding what was needed to the smash cake. I was so Hurt! Angry! So many emotions going thru me. Day of my kid 1st bday party. I felt as if they did it on purpose. Because no was there to help with the problem. Ppl called off. Daniel come after almost 20mins of waiting. Had to keep reminding him. I needed assistance. Trying to give me his manager speech. I didnt wanna hear. Then blame me. For not being there in the a.m. to get it. After wasting more time by going back and forth. He offer discount. Which wasnt good.Then I asked what happen to his name. Being on the cake. They couldn't even do that. Mind u. No one was there. And the 1 lady they had working. Was scared she will mess it up. I said nevermind.They offer me bunch of happy birthday sticks. That stand in the cake. No thank u. Not the look for this cake. And left I will not be ordering from them again. Very incompetent...

Bad customer service in Special food service and false advertisement. I wanted to order menudo so I asked for a cup of it and I was waiting to be called when one of the employees asked me what I wanted to get and I saw that it was $5.99. I told the employee that i wanted a pound of menudo he said they only sell it by cup so I said ok. He was only giving me juice so I told him to serve me meat as well. He gave me the order and I walked to the long line to the register and when I was going to pay the cashier said it was $8.99 plus tax. I asked her why if it said it was $5.99 and she said the small container is $5.99 and large was $8.99. I was confused so i asked to speak to manager and she said that the price was correct. I told her I was never offered different sizes of containers or price. So, she said that at the moment they didn't have smaller containers and that if I wanted it at $5.99 she has to go back and remove two spoon fulls out of my cup of menudo. I was so upset that I told her keep it....

So was looking for another store to get some carne asada on the fourth of July,usually I shop the food for less on HAWTHORNE but honestly since they closed their meat and deli department and sometimes running out of the items that your looking for making it a not so pleasant store to shop at anymore, so I was recommended by another customer to go to this store which is Gonzalez market, so I did on the fourth of July since food for less ran out of their carne asada and almost all the beer that is popular and on sale, so headed out to Gonzalez ans let me tell you as soon as I walked into the store I was impressed wow I said to myself how come I've never been here I've been missing out on all the great deal's I mean they had everything fresh deli, fresh seafood,fresh bakery and meat department and their customer service was on point as well, so realy looking forward on going back for my next grocery run, sorry food for less but ain't going back...
