THE WORST MEAT WE HAVE EVER HAD. The only reason they got 1 STAR is that is the only way to give a review. We bought a 4lb prime rib roast for 125.00 for a special Christmas dinner. It was the worse meat we have ever had. We each took a slice and couldn't cut through it or chew it, so I had to saw the pieces we had on our plates for Dixie. She is a gobbler and I don't need to cut food up for her. But this was so bad I was afraid my dog would joke. Put the rest of the meat in the bag and took it back. They gave me a hard time. They said we can't refund. Oh they said that to the wrong person. We should have got a total refund. We got 58.00 back. Great people running a great store! It's not the biggest, it's not the nicest looking store around, but the people there will lend a helping hand in any situation they can! I always make sure that I go there when it comes to buying things for my kids. The man I've always dealt with always gives me a great deal and usually throws in a few packs of diapers and wipes for free for my two yr old & now for my 3 month old as well, what store does that, right?!? Hazel Park Food Center, that's who! Very caring employees/owners! & if you're shopping for WIC there, he will always make sure to give you some free diapers, cause that's how they work! I use to like coming here because of the meat bundles & the free pack of diapers if you bought most of your wic items. My 2 most recent experiences make me not want to go back. A couple weeks ago I bought a meat bundle, been sick ever since. The steak was bad and smelled weird, I get really bad stomach cramps and throw up if I eat pork chops from there. Last night my bf stopped in to get some fruits veggies with our wic card, the redskin potatoes were green on the inside, & my sons grapes are molded and covered with brown spots. When I pulled the rest of the meat bundle out of my freezer to check it I realized all the meat they gave me was already at its sell by date. That is disgusting...
