Green Acres Park — Attraction in Hazel Park

Terrible for walking in my opinion. This tiny park has 9 or so disc golf holes that are in constant use - several of which go right over the only path. I don't like being negative about it, but I just can't walk through there without wondering if I'll get hit with a 6oz frisbee. I've been to plenty of parks with disc golf, and this is the only one where it feels like it gets in the way of any other activities. To put a course in this 0.1 square mile park is just a...

So I get a letter from post 253 to see Lenny about something special. I found Lenny , he claimed that the letter was sent to everyone in the area, but you have to be a member. We'll I have been a member for over 32 years. To that, he said, I didn't know that. So much for feeling special. I really thought after all these years I was going to be recognized. You'll never see me at any event again. Now I feel like a sucker and a looser.

I love the upgrades. I’ve been part of this community since I was a baby. I’ve camped in this park with my Girl Scout troops, many family reunions, and the Memorial Day carnival every year. I just wish there were staff to open the bathrooms during Labor Day weekend so we could still hold our reunion at this location. Until then, we are forced to hold it in Warren community parks.
