Java Hutt Cafe — Restaurant in Hazel Park

A trip to Java Hutt is more or less part of my daily routine since coming to hazel park. The drinks are great, and the staff are all wonderful. I go just as much for the pleasure of saying hello. It’s cool having a spot right in the neighborhood that feels that way. Like someone else mentioned here, i give them a call and order ahead which is a neat convenience. They clearly cultivate a number of regulars like me, and that’s no surprise at all. It’s also a top pick for me as a place to meet and catch up with a friend, & it’s also somewhere I’d feel good going to study for a bit or write something. Great atmosphere. Can’t forget the food is delicious too!

My mom and I met here to hang out and plan an up coming trip. The woman at the counter was beyond sweet and helped us decide what to drink. They have plenty of alternative milks, including many unsweetened options which can be hard to come by at times. The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced as were our breakfast sandwiches. Their food is not anything fancy, but it's solid and they use quality ingredients. Many things come without sauce but they have a couple sauce options if you ask. They also have some local art on the walls for sale which is always a fun local touch for a cafe. I love this coffee shop. The coffee tastes great, it's reasonably priced, and there are so many options. It's always clean.

The barista I always see in the morning (not sure if she's the owner or not) is always upbeat, helpful, and charming. I think she makes the place what it is!

There are plenty of tables to work from the place for a couple hours or sit and read a book. I think they have a couple tables in the back outside too but I don't think it's a full patio at this time.

I know they have plenty of good sounding breakfast options but I'm not much of a morning eater so I haven't had any yet.

Highly recommend this place! It's a great stop and easy/fast to get in and out of on your way...
