Park does appear to accommodate sports, like soccer and likely little leagues with large level grassy playing fields however when I think of a "park", I think and envision nature. I don't think there was one tree in the whole park extending two left long blocks alongside sometimes busy Healdsburg road. Not even a shrub, flowers or even invasive vines evident, or a water fountain, however two aged park picnic tables sat seemingly isolated at far back end of "park", parallel to the bicycle / Walk/ jogging path.
Adjacent to what is better described as a sports field, an expensive parking lot covering an area possibly more than the playing fields. Kind of out of place, centered in the back half of the parking lot, is a very little playground for very little children.
Remiss of trees and shade, both playground and fields, receive every bit of sun from when first rise to set, so be sure to bring some shade with you, sunglasses, umbrella and/or hat and for...
Read moreWell it has the makings of what could be a park. It's full of small yappy dogs who are allowed to run all around without leashes. But bring a dog bigger than a cat and people freak out. They have running water for their garden, but if you need a bathroom your stick using the most vile port-a-potty I've ever seen. Do yourself a favor and drive on to another park, or better yet another town. Def thumbs down on this place. If I could give -stars this place would get them. People here are not friendly, just a bunch of winos as far...
Read moreThis is also a great place for an off leash walk with your dog. You do need to leash up at the parking lot and then walk around the children's playground, but once on the far side you can let your dog off leash and walk along the dirt path following the edge of the Russian River. Further down the trail there is a place to walk down onto a large gravel bar in the river and let the pooch have a swim. This is a great Healdsburg resource so be sure to pick up after your pet so it stays available for...
