Let me start by saying simply: GO HERE! As a former burger flipper, you'll be hard pressed to find a better burger shack with more affordable prices, better vibes, and most importantly, better food anywhere within a two hour drive of this location. The staff are jovial and really seem to enjoy what they do. The food is top notch, letting you customize your burger to your hearts content, with endless made-from-scratch options. You can tell these guys really love what they do. I do a bacon-blue cheese burger with provolone and I really haven't had a burger that compares since the old days of Picks drive-in in cloverdale (which was owned by the same people that own this place now, so clearly there's a trend of excellence.) Plus, $20 for a huge pitcher of beer, on draft, is really an unbeatable price these days. Not to mention it's withing staggering distance to the Russians rivers gorgeous memorial beach, makes this place a must visit location for any vacation. Best burgers in wine country, hands down, like I...
Read moreI really wish I could give Healdsburger 5 stars. For years I've been touting this as the best burger place in Sonoma County. And with 2 visits in 8 months (spaced vastly apart to give them some time to get thier act back together) it has become odvious I need to seek out a new burger spot. I understand with young people working a burger spot there will be a high turnover rate. But if these people are not being held to a high enough standard, the wait for good food not fast food will no longer be worth it. And paying $40 for 2 burgers, a small fry, a small onion ring, and 2 drinks sure as heck won't be. Today the fries were soggy, the onion rings fairly over-cooked and the lower half of my burger patty fell out of my burger upon taking my first bite. I'm guessing from too much pressing on it while cooking. Oh, and why have a fried egg on a burger if the yolk is completely cooked? So...
Read moreI am a local, therefore I have been eating at Healdsburger for years. If I was writing a review about their hamburgers I would have lots of great things to say, but today I am writing about the Rib Eye sandwich.
So disappointing! The meat was tough and stringy. Take a bite and the meat pulls out of the sandwich due to so much fat and grizzle attached. The bread was not strong enough to stand up to the moisture in the sandwich. By the time I was halfway done with my meal I was holding a disgusting wet pile of greasy bread in my slimy fingers. It was gross!
If this was Hells Kitchen and I was Chef Ramsey this mess would have gone straight into the bin.
Pass on the Rib Eye sandwich and go for the burger. Apart from the mess, you won’t be disappointed.
The fries are the...
