I learned how to skateboard at this park. Note for parents: If you're a parent with young kids the best time to come is in the early day or before evening when it is less crowded. Mornings are also desolate with very few people skating between sunrise and 11:00AM
Summary: Amazing park, just getting a bit old.
Terrain Review: The park has lights 👍! The park has some of the biggest and best bowls in Utah. It also has one of the only true swimming pool style bowls in Utah. The transition and park is well made and thoughtfully designed. It has really good flow and you can skate in a loop for hours. The smallest quarter pipe that isn't too steep to learn on is about 4-5 feet. Beginners can still enjoy the shallow bowl without dropping in because of the ramp and roll in however. There are no flatbars, all handrails go down stairs or banks. There are a couple of ledges and street spots, but the park is definitely more bowl and transition oriented. Amazing park for all levels of skill. BMX bikes can enjoy it too.
Criticisms: Unfortunately the park is getting old. Wear and tear on the concrete and coping have made some features less smooth and sometimes dangerous when tile pieces chip and drop pebbles in the bowls. Sometimes the bathroom is a wreck. Graffiti comes and goes too. I've heard complaints that the paint used to cover graffiti makes the bowls too slippery. The reality is sometimes kids trash the place, usually younger than high school aged kids in my experience. They don't understand how our taxes paid for it. All locals here are harmless and good people though, it is in Heber afterall. I want the city to put some money into some repairs (concrete, concrete pool coping, rust off of metal coping), but I also understand how they are reluctant since sometimes young kids treat the park badly. The park has a fence around it which seems unnecessary honestly. Also sometimes the sprinklers turn on at night and get parts of the park wet before closing.
Other notes and advice: -Treat the park with respect! Don't leave your trash sitting around. Don't plaster low effort spray paint art on the walls. -Bring a water bottle. -I've seen a lot of broken bones and one time a broken skull happen here, so when you try the bigger bowls and obstacles make sure you are ready! (Although like any outdoor activity sometimes you get unlucky). -Don't be intimidated by locals, we are nice and usually down to give advice. -Learning to skateboard...
Read moreVery cool skate park with a lot of different features that is excellent for all skateboarders a different ages and abilities. They have a big pool bowl which is extremely nice and challenging for those who like to try it. I pretty much has almost any feature you can think of Ford escape Park. Well laid out and is a good shape overall. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for scooters. It's fine if you did want to use a scooter but it's definitely more set up for...
