I had to unfortunately move out of Hemet 2 years ago, but I still visit my parents who live there every now and again. I haven't used my Hemet library card in years, but needed to use a computer and print something out while I was in town visiting and was having a hard time trying to get into a computer without having any idea where my old Hemet library card would have even been these days so I had to go to the counter for help and was kindly greeted by Eric who helped me through the process of getting another card when I explained my situation. He was extremely kind the entire time and so was another lady who was near by, behind the counter with him. I unfortunately did not get her name. I've never had an issue with this library even though I haven't been there in years prior to this experience. If I'm being completely honest, it's even better than the two libraries I do go to even where I live now. I'm glad to see it is still as beautiful and full of kind staff as it always has been. Shame to see it's not open more days of the week and I was lucky to be there in a day it...
Read moreRecently moved to Hemet from Corona last year, what a disappointment this library is. Unhelpful staff and when they do respond to questions most of the staff are patronizing and/or answer in internal library speak. Signing up was a joke, they did not list my email even when I gave it 2 xs to 2 different staff, thus incurring over due charges ( they did rectify it after I complained). Have never been phoned or emailed to let me know "hold books" are there available @least 5 times, and when I asked to see my "reserved/held books the staff stated we don't have the computer capabilities to pull reserved/held books from customer account, I've held so many books I don't remember them all and are never notified or they never come in, I GAVE on that process! The library is depressing, when do the kids even go visit they have such ridiculous visiting times not conducive for school children. Its almost as if the staff want to have the PUBLIC LIBRARY...
Read moreI recently visited the library to see if it would be useful to my clients who are resource poor residents of Hemet. This public resource is inhospitable and unhelpful. The bathrooms were closed and inaccessible; no public computer workstations; no chairs; nowhere to sit or plug in a cell phone or laptop. Why is this place even open? Whoever manages this facility is NOT committed to serving the public. Minimal services and geared toward people who really don't need it. Public monies are wasted on this institution. Tax dollars would be better spent subsidizing the Starbuck's...
