Who would have thought that among Temecula, Menifee and Hemet, Hemet would beat hands down the best bakery challenge? Tried them all, at least once, and yesterday after reading somewhere of the Harvard St Bakery and Cafe, I decided to go out of my comfort zone to Hemet to try the place. Yes, it took about 17 minutes each way, but the end results was well worth it. In what appeared a downtown area resides this bakery. Grace took my order, and later Rose?, the owner, and apparently the one with the magic touch, appeared as well. Both extremely pleasant ladies, making the first time shopping experience a very nice one. Bought a couple of breads, since at 2 in the afternoon on a Saturday, were the last to be found, no baguettes to be had. Also purchased several pastries, including a very delicious Banana Bread Pudding, with probably the best icing to put on top, given on the side. Very creamy, not too sweet, which kind of told the story of this place. If the icing is made with so much pride, then definitely this bakery, like good cream, rises to the top. The owner said that she could, and would prepare, most special requests, as I mentioned Dulce de Leche creations. I am also thinking about a German Apple Strudel with thin crust, and fresh apples. One would think that I was a spring chicken, with unlimited capacity for good sweets, but that certainly is not the case, for we all, as a family do crave superior baked items, and when we are lucky to find a decent bakery we love it! Hard to find good quality, and we really enjoyed most of the selected pastries. Better than a Donut Shop, that’s for sure, since the products are not saturated with sugars to the point of no...
Read moreIncredibly delicious cakes!!! Truth be told, I've never been to this bakery before. I relied solely on their online reviews. I work in the food and beverage industry in Las Vegas and respect/recognize excellent service when I see it. I was planning my sister's birthday party when my previous baker flaked on me (the day before my party) to please 40 people. After calling this bakery, (on incredibly short notice,) they were not only able to deal with my frustration and debacles from the previous baker, but they somehow made the situation even better than expected. The cake they created (even with my specifications,) was beyond expectations. It was so incredibly good! There were so many people that enjoyed the cake so much that they had to fight over who would get the last piece. Superior customer service and an exemplary cake that is a must have for any event! I will be back!
A year later I've come back and, yet again, this bakery has exceeded my expectations. This year, we threw a birthday party for my mom with a two tiered cake. The cakes were fresh, soft and moist (the carrot cake was my favorite.) Their homemade fillings and whipped cream frosting created the perfect texture without being overly sweet. Laura and her crew were friendly, professional and accommodating. Spectacular flavors and superior results. Needless to say, there was no cake left by the end...
Read moreI was having a crazy sweet tooth today so my bf ordered us some goodies from here via door dash. We got a cannoli (should've gotten a dozen as these things are a bit small around 2 bites per cannoli), a lemon cheese square (freaking delicious but in my opinion it would be far better chilled, the crumble on it is absolutely divine), blueberry cheese Danish (honestly so delicious and buttery and pleasantly sweet without being toothache sweet, perfect blueberry to cheese ratio and the Danish component is phenomenal), chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick (delicious, simple, delicious! My bf said it was his favorite item. The cheesecake itself isn't giant or super dense it's a tad light and fluffy and maybe a 1inch think slice, the chocolate coating is also not too thick it is a lovely thin dark chocolate shell) will certainly order again, the confetti cake was probably the most pleasant surprise for me (so freaking moist! Like perfect! Yummy frosting, excellent cake to frosting ratio. Again, super simple not a crazy item but absolutely perfect). Prices were fair, the cannoli was $3, cheesecake $4.50, Danish $2.60, confetti cake $5.40, lemon cheese square $3.20... the cannoli was probably the most "over priced" item but honestly no complaints it was delicious and $3 is fair ish, like $1.50...
