El Jalapeño — Restaurant in Hemet

Me and a few friends had lunch/brunch there on 10/30/24. The food was ok. Like another stated, not well seasoned. My issue is that they're dishonest. Not only do they charge 4% to use a debit or credit card but, you also have to check your bank account afterwards. My bill total was $19.21 this included the non cash adjustment 4%. I added an additional 1.50 as an additional part of a $3.00 tip I had left on the table. Tip totaling $4.50. I signed my receipt for $20.71. Tell me why $26.71 was deducted from my account. I called the business to inquire of the error. I was told that I would receive a return call with a resolution within 30 minutes. 😆 lol. I'm still waiting on that call. El Jalapeño is a great Mexican restaurant. Their food and service is excellent. The many choices on the menu give you a chance to experience the Mexican food culture. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food that is served. Their menudo is top notch. I had to deduct 1-star because of how they handle the check at the end. The waitresses write down what you ordered on the check and you take it up to the register to pay. The person at the register inputs the amount based on the order written down. This way caused an error in a charge. I was overcharged for the nachos I ordered, but didn't notice until the next day when I was reconciling my receipts. I didn't call them to fix the situation, but if I return, I'll make sure that the price shown on the menu, is the price I'm charged. And I think everyone who goes there should...

They are accepting DineIn..we were excited. We ordered two childrens plates, and two combination plates..and one pozole. I guess one lady seats and serves drink(very nice lady) but the actual waitress,not very polite at all. I spoke in spanish to them both bc Im comfortable doing so. Waitress was not talkative..never once came to table after we got our food to ask about new drinks, I asked for her recommendation vs two seperate items, she seemed bothered i even asked. would have gotten a refill or another soda... wrote our total on the back of the ticket that she brought wrong side up..so we had to search for it. Then she just dropped it off at that.. , she did say thank yoooou. Needs to work in kitchen if she cant handle people .we even watched her serving another table and they had to ask for everything.
